  1. Mines got a pull choke knob. Twisted it one way, then the other, tried pulling it gently, tried pulling it hard. Left unsatisfied. Probably the cable is corroded in the sheath. Will check that spring, I assume the choke is stuck off, but I have seen them messed with and stuck on due to bypassing a stuck cable, so good place to start Also I'm hot wiring it, which was very easy
  2. Brum brum, I sure do like an inline 4 Choke cable seems to be stuck, all my batteries go flat after 1 crank on this, probably they are all stuffed, but still they can start cars. I feel I can hear something not dissimilar from piston slap, pretend it's a 2 stroke

  4. I think the rear suits the huge tank. As a side sharn, I also can't stand those skateboard type seats, expecially when you have like a big BMW and a tiny seat on the back. Terrible

  9. Yeah, so I saw this, thought it was a deal, and now it's mine 1981 Honda CB650. Has been a cafe racer for about 15 years I think, sitting in last guys shed for about 10 due to dead rego and a failed inspection. Runs, sort of. Its very smokey. It failed its revin 10 years go because of it apparently, and it's worse now then it was then. Haven't looked into it yet, but a carb and top end refresh isn't too much. Dead reg of course, but don't see any issue there other than moving the tail light and a couple little things like that. Flat battery naturally. For some reason he pulled the tach apart and bent the shaft and lost the needle. Pretty dumb, I got some similar gauges (ND rather than ND from a 750) that I might swap in. Or not. Oh and the key got lost recently, already got one in the post. Paint is rad, purple root beer sort of colour with candy over the pinstripes, tail has a big scuff, might cover that with a sticker. It was a finished project years ago so not much I'd change, the headlight and gauges are too high, so I might eventually change those to level the front end out. Has pod filters, hopefully has been jetted to suit, leaks fuel, best case scenario is the smoke is from a stuck float. 4 into 1 exhaust, sounds good Wife keeps complaining I keep buying single seater motorcycles for some reason, will see how comfortable it is and think about rear sets Comstars look Great and so do the side panels Please give advice and tips on how to trim my beard and best place to get flannel shirts below

  11. might be computer controled torque convertor not locking out because its reading the temperature wrong they dont lock up when they read the trans temp fluid too low be good if you can scan the code
  12. Fix the swage lines and arch, then bash the rest out roughly. Hit it with a shrinking disk on a 9" grinder Itl come out just perfect
  13. Interesting, someone used tyre black on my mudflaps and it's real streaky shows the brush marks Might just redcoat it with that
  14. Do you find that it lasts a while? I have never kept anything I've put it on long enough to find out You can wash it like an hour later and it stays on.
  15. What do you guys use. Some chalky stuff I will sand if it's a smooth finish, and polish it out, or you can use heat to bring the oils up. Though I have some plastics that have totally dried out and can't be brought back. Seen some people using boiled linseed oil and seems to come up good, reapply every few months. Turtle wax stuff seems to go streaky after a day or two I've been using this solution finish. It's expensive but has come up pretty good on part faded plastics. Here's some real faded scooter plastics I'm using it on, been in the sun probably 12 years and going chalky. Needs a couple application's to fully go black, just rubbing it into the texture with a cloth I'm pretty sure it's boiled linseed oil and carbon, but dries clean. Might try my own mix
  16. get some high silver content silver solder and flow it with map gas, or for a head badge, use this style of rivet they also come in brass. hammer them in, to remove cut a slot in the head and unscrew for something like that, some decent 2 part epoxy glue will hold it no worries. Or use badge tape like for a car. i stuck the badge back on my bike with some of that and its been on there for years JBweld probably would work too, i have some securing the bottle rivnuts on my touring bike that were a little loose. It also survives powdercoating if you are into that

  18. does this imply that someone bought a scooter new in nz, then exported it, then brought it back? RTW on a 50cc?
