sounds good mate this could be completely irrelevant, and i know you said you already are seam welding, but on most current race cars they put little spot welds along all the seam meeting lines. say one every 15cm or so. cant really tell if this is what your doing already but hey. just trying to help.

that 'hell of a clunk' might or probably will be from the bushes around the diff being worn out. The stabiliser bars make that sorta noise when their bushes are shot. Must admit i dont know what the rear end on a hillman looks like but yea, id check those bushes

i really like those mirrors you have a pic of, i reckon they'll suit the car real nice, will make a mint mix of new and old IMO and the watanabe's will also add alot of class and style too it, mite need a little lowering tho. defenitly a nicee car tho
