  1. The old measure before starting to bash method might have been the way to go, plug is about 0.7mm bigger than hole
  2. Shit thats a good idea. I should probably check this yeah...
  3. The hole is super clean, new rotor housings, have put a generous smear of loctite pipe sealant in there and have been using socket like you describe but hammer just bounces off, if i had a lathe i would take a couple tenths of mm off of the plugs they seem way too tight. Can take photo tonight
  4. Would be ok if plug was going in the manifold but i think really needs to go in block? I guess i could plug mani and O ring like factory in block but more likely to leak?
  5. Tried freezing the plug, no change, this is all on the front housing where there is more swing room. The rubber things with the nut may be the way as have room on the other side, nut can sit in manifold coolant port perhaps
  6. I etched 'go hard for what you are' on the plug, didn't work but may have collapsed a parralel universe.
  7. Maybe but trouble will be finding a flat enough surface in the engine bay to push against.
  8. Hmmm some good ideas, will try again tonight
  9. Thanks man, Im south of the border unfortunately
  10. Having major difficulty installing 20mm freeze plugs into 13b intake manifold coolant ports (engine in car), very limited swing for hammer. Dont have an engine crane to remove engine. Considering tapping to M22 and using threaded plugs instead but min hole size is supposed to be 20.73mm, although its only aluminium so I might get away with it? Taps will be fkn expensive though for a one off job. Why has no one made a 90deg battery hammer? Any ideas before i go buy an engine crane?
  11. Auto Fortune seem to have a good reputation and price seems reasonable
  12. Sorry confused myself (too many half finished jobs) resistor is actually for water temp sensor to factory dash gauge (original RX2 green ring sensor is NLA have to use later black ring type which will read wrong without resistor).
  13. If I am wiring a 20 Ohm resistor in line between oil pressure sensor and dash, how many watts should the resistor be?
  14. Cool car man, funny looking water pump, no thermostat? MFR?
  15. Yeah was thinking maybe copper and use the hose to make rubber joiners
  16. Yeah its reinforced bummer, wonder if you can buy non-reinforced...
  17. Has anyone successfully put bends in straight rubber heater hose? Thinking of filling section with sand, bending as tight as possible and baking in the oven something...
  18. I think they either work or dont work, they have a circuit board. Have a feeling Bosch BIM024 are the aftermarket replacement?
  19. Ok thanks, its booked in just trying to get all sorted the wk before xmas/ball ache
  20. Failed wof on brakes, had them fixed, meantime windscreen cracks (probably in field of view if you're picky), can I re-test and get wof or will i need to get screen first?
  21. Do you need to have reverse lights hooked up for cert/wof? (I did search this thread and the LVV documents - couldnt find anything specific either way. I did 'see Cletus mention you don't legally need reverse gear (you probably should!?) but if do have the gear and not the corresponding illumination - fail or all good?)
  22. Checked the batt in the project, some kind of big calcium generic thing, usually charge it about twice a year when it gets down to the low 12s V. Read 16.5!? Must check meter on daily to see if its telling lies otherwise what the heck?
  23. Chinese gamble only worth it if you put fuck all value on your time (which you shouldn't, unless you're pretty solid on reincarnation, which you shouldn't be)
