  1. http://www.justbrakes.co.nz/ these guys do it in Auckland if you want something more local. Most of the brake shops send their stuff here to be done too.
  2. Keeping on theme with the left-hand side... Rear quarter has taken a hit at some point and been "dent-pullered" out, and smoothed over. So i un-stitched all the mess and started again. Due to me being a muppet - lots happened and no pics got taken!! So.. many hours of hammer and dolly, welding etc. etc. Still have the rear valance to straighten, lengthen, and reattach..
  3. So... sill was a little unstraight rash from diving into a ditch in Targa at one point So decision was to chop it out and fix it proper,
  4. Sanding... filling ...painting... sanding... filling ... painting Lock-down Groundhog day around here - but results are good considering i'm still working full time at home. Still some work to do on the doors but im happy with the bonnet/guards.
  5. I think i forgot to start one ... so here it is
  6. nearly forgot this... i wasn't allowed back in the house! hence so much got done!
  7. So ... lockdown project.. sanding, sanding, sanding, sanding, sanding and Painting..
  8. Left Hand guard too.. Accident damage hammered out And RUST!!! toyotalife!! too many mudflap holes!!!
  9. @Truenotch thanks - that sure is my racer. That was the first year that it ran targa. I dont have many pics of it from that year.. I was busy service crewing for this car until it fell off the road into a drainage ditch
  10. They also pull a shit tonne of horsepower out of the motor.. I gained 9-10hp on the dyno just removing the viscous fan on my celica.
  11. Motivation = 110% currently Front guard repairs this time - repairing what "Patch Adams" has done in the past Discovery phase: 10mm+ of Bog!! Past repairs Only one option - cut it all off and patch it up weld it together And - patched - now to find time to prime and fill the small hollows..
  12. Well I finally found some time and got my ass into gear and finished straightening up the roof today. Came out pretty good i recon.
  13. Whiney diff fixed... meant the whiney/noisy gearbox now became annoying so ..
  14. As well as the underside/diff above, In parallel i was called up by an upholsterer (Grant) I have been on a waiting list for about 2 years... He is known world wide for the fantastic replica celica seat covers he makes. I have had a roll of the original rare GT seat vinyl material squirreled away for years, waiting for the right time to redo the seats. I also sourced some seat vents that were as close to the originals i could get. Plus I sourced a second lot of Ivory vinyl to do the RA28 celica too - so i got 2 sets made by him. So i gutted the interior out. The back seat frames are known to get damp and rust .. So i repaired it and repainted it in copper paint like original. And repainted the back too. cleaned/painted the rails and tilt mechanisms I got the seat covers re-fitted by Grant and reassembled SLEEEK's seats at the weekend. He also kindly remade the original handbrake and gearstick boots
  15. Diff out With it out - i thought the underside looked like shit so i scrubbed, cleaned, sanded, and painted it. and - finally put the diff in..
  16. Brake lines sussed, and i got a box of stuff plated too. Also OCD me decided that mint condition inside the rear brake drums is a requirement!!!
  17. 20 years and the diff hasn't been touched apart from brake shoes and wheel bearings. I decided to give it a birthday. Before.. Acid dipped Painted..
  18. Eyechrometer calibration complete... It may be a mirror image but I'd say filling and drilling a few holes is easier than cutting and reversing a whole sump 2T gasket 4Y gasket
  19. It could be a wild goose chase but looking at a 4Y oil pan - its almost identical to a 2T/3T toyota oil pan but backwards. It may be worth buying a 2T/3T sump gasket and trying it on the 4Y 4Y oil pan 2T oil pan
  20. http://www.sasgroup.nz/ I used these guys years ago - not sure if they still rebuild them now. They may know who does it.
  21. This stuff also has a high concentration and works wonders on rust. https://www.mitre10.co.nz/shop/quik-rust-remover-500ml/p/239274
  22. With the welder out for SLEEEK's floor repair, i figured also fixing the other quarter window on the racer was probably long overdue. Some BS repairs from the past that were 90% bog. Repair the inner bit and the reinforcement. Fill other rust holes. Measure and make the outer bits. Glue it up. and 200% betterer...
