the guys i was talking to about custom springs said it would be best if i sent them originals to get the right sizes from, hence goin to pick a part to grab a front and rear spring

back on the ground still havent finished fixin the brakes yet but its driving and theres no awful scraping sounds from the rear anymore! next up, getting all the brakes working properly by, * fitting new front pads * new rear shoes fitted * new rear cylinders fitted * possibly new slotted znoelli discs, depending on money * full fluid flush and after that, new crossmember and susspension consisting of, * (at this stage) custom front and rear springs by Chamberlin Springs * Shortened Shocks all round * New front crossmember * New Panhard rod (current one is bent) * diagnosis on front sway bar issues * replace all bushes if budget allows

thats what i was thinkin... right... off to pick a part to get sum springs hehehe

so im getting to the stage where im going to have to fix the suspension in the MKII. can anyone help me out on options? its gonna be as low as possible, talked to chamberlin springs and they said $80 per pair for compressing factory springs and around double to custom make. does anyone know of a company that will do pre made? king springs dont ive tried them. also, anyone know of any shortened shocks that will fit?

can anyone recomend a good rust repairer? got rust around my front and rear windscreens that needs doing as well as a rear gaurd

WOH ive been mentioned and didnt even know it haha yea its sitting in the garage now gettin ew rear brakes and axles etc... if anyone can help me out with parts id really appreciate it thanks for those pics btw... been lookin for pics of em for inspiration! and dont worry, it aint gettin the "sacked out on chromies" treatment. jap style all the way so far plans are, * round chrome mirrors on the gaurds, * springs that are low... but aint chopped * shocks to match * deeeeeeeeeep dish wheels * maybe next year throw a 3sge into it * tidy up the paint * bit of stereo otherwise she'll be generally just tidied up as a daily cruiser

just picked it up this arvo. at the moment plans are a nice set of jap style wheels and a 3SGE. already has w55 box In the garage: first thing i did was pull the rear left brakes apart to find out what the grinding noise was. here is the result... yummy axle is bent and wheel bearing is crushed to bits. was told previous owner hit a curb at 40k's. there is also damage to the front x-member but ill get to that when the rear end is sorted

amen to that! y the hell would u spend so much money on sounds/engine mods/body work and not put the money in to holding your car on the ground? its like those knob skins that put overly powerful motors in their cars without uppgrading the brakes. if i ever get rear ended by someone like that, they gonna get a quick intro to my alluminium baseball bat Do what u want, but do it properly. if not for your safety, then for the safety of other road users!
