  1. nice car mate engine specs plz looks like a starion motor?
  2. hey mate yeap just unbolt then two bolts that hold it on take it off and make up a blanking plate for it, using the old gasket as a template always works a treat then just newgasket/gasket goo it up and ur all sweet 2 stroke oil is a user choice thing really the debate just goes on and on, too premix or keep omp, what ratio, what oil etc anything from 100-200:1 is the go i was running 150:1 as i had a 35 litre tank so about the time it got low i was filling up 30 litres which was an easy 200mls of oil any good quality 2 stroke is fine, synthetic or mineral as both are designed to be completely combusted
  3. love the look of the old skylines shoudlve left the grey one were it was sitting orignally tho nice cars mate
  4. will have to wait and see if i stop being a woman
  5. its not the cable there worried about its the actual throw on the fork,
  6. yip cheers mate clutch bolts up fine etc right spline guys at the clutch shop reckon it could be shit to drive, due to the way exedy make there heavy duty pressure plates all they do is change the pivot point of the diaphragm or sum shiz may end with clutch engagement/disengament point right on the floor almost have to wait and see
  7. for anyone thats cares= probly no one narrowblock is 285mm flywheel wideblock is 308mm and i just drilled out the locating pin on the crank chur
  8. hey guys found some chasis damage on my car and wondering if i need to get it fixed or its just a superficial thing? looks like its been jacked on the chassis basically, is the front passenger chassis right at the end of it under the passneger seat i cleaned the muck off it to see how bad it was and doesnt look too bad, just been pushed up and the side squished out a little yea so just wanting to know the legality of it as my car will be going for cert later on and rather get it fixed now than get pulled up on it then cheers
  9. ok sum1 measured a starion wideblock flywheel for me and it was 308mm by his measurement that would mean my l200 285mm flywheel would be the narrow block one and the correct one to use? and the 265mm is some other samller one of a 1.8 1.6 engine or something that i dunno
  10. nah bottom is easier to use 13.25" lower bolts (Wideblock) and 12.25" lower bolts (Narrowblock). the top are like 130mm and 150mm but gboxes a have both of these top bolts on one side for some reason so u cant tell if its a wideblock or narrow block gbox from the top holes only the bottom engine is either way
  11. yea obviously only one works, gbox is 100% definatley a narrow block 31cm across bottom bolt holes from a l200 and flywheel came with that so dont see why it would be a wideblock flywheel? has a 215mm clutch on it and can see the wear marks from that size clutch i was just hoping somone would know the difference in widths between a narrow block flywheel and wideblock flywheel, that way i can get one of them machined and no imy using the right width flywheel im just worried that the fwd sigma one is actually too narrow if i can use the l200 one i have it seems the obvious choice, it allready has the spigot whole and is it better nick than the sigma one (ring gear etc) iom also not 100% sure that either flyhweel is whta they "should" be as i bought them from other people prozac to answer a few of the things you were saying about 4g63s "most" non turbo rwds are narrow block (some autos are wideblock apparently) all turbo rwds are wideblock all fwds are narrow i just realised that, and neither of my flywheels have those holes (there just 2 pics i found on the net), is on the engine though, is it a dowel pin i can just pull off?
  12. ok bit of a hurdle i have a l200 flyhweel(well wat i believe to be, came with my gbox) here and a fwd sigma gsr sipogot hole for the sigma flywheel is pretty small, only just fits over then input shaft so theres not way if i but a bearing in it it would fit so am i ment to get this machined out further? obviously the l200 one fits fine with the spigot bearing etc they look like that but withough that random extra little hole(sample pic i found) secondly there different widths? the l200 one is 285mm and the sigma gsr one is 265mm how much clearance do i need/meant to have for starter? the l200 ring gear just fits in the bellhousing where as the sigma one obviously sits in quite a bit further now are all rwd 4g63 starters the same?this would mean that i cant use the sigma flywheel at all becuse of both of these problems?i was planning on using my 1200cc starter with watever as others said they have used it just need to confirm i should use the l200 (and it is an l200 one) as i need to get it machined before i fit my clutch worst comes to worst i imagine that i can fit a l200 starter and it will work with l200 flywheel
  13. ive got a manual for one at home but im at the g/fs now will post it up 2morrow if no one has done it before then mate
  14. what turbo you buy mate just going for a standard engine rebuild?
  15. alodine is a type of treatment for aluminium bare metal wont work on steel i dont think thats wat your talking about anyway as it goes a browny/gold colour
  16. came up pretty bloody good with a wash mate cheers again for the gbox crossmember
  17. yea if your not looking at nuts power i.e tubo efi etc then a worked a15 would be awesome cam and head work with a nice set of twin sidedrafts like the pic caboon posted, extractors maybe a lightened flywheel?and a 5 speed box will be heaps of fun and bolt straight in, no extra wiring or anything mate had this setup in his 1200 coupe and that thing used to fly
  18. dont mean to be a stink cunt but are you able to get the bits at the bottom? there the bits im interested and there all chopped off and is that just the 1200cc one? really need the pics of the 1600cc dash wiring
  19. bumping so caboon doesnt forget this time
  20. matty b is not a good idea on acar which is a daily first time it gets wet itl look like bum wees
  21. nah 4g63 evo/vr4 ,motor goes in all sweet and everything couple of little probs to suss only reason i was humming and harring was gbox anyways im a big believer in sticking with a new motor in an older car from the same manufacturer o and u ford boys can have them tho cos you guys have nothing to choose from hahahaha
  22. if the ex is done by then i "might" try chuck it on the dyno, put some of these ricers to shame
  23. yea was meaning a close to stock ca18 like a t28 maybe a t25g (not sure if they make it to 200kw though?) no aftermarket jobbies etc might make me regret putting a 4g63 in my ex rather than a ca18
  24. anyone got a 200kw ca18det dyno chart? would be keen to compare it next to a 200kw 4g63 chart would assume the ca18 is a bit steeper/later in its power
