  1. That's interesting as at the moment I have no interior and can turn around and see my OEM tank sitting there above the diff. It's not even vented to the outside either Can you explain more about the spill ring?
  2. Amazing, an update. I'm out of work, lazing about at home and cam(slacker) encouraged me to go outside and do some work on the car. Rotated the compressor of the churbro to start an engine bay tidy up and started figuring out how to mount the Chevette bumpers. It's a bit crooked (I need to slot the side mounts) and the middle mounts aren't long enough to bolt up so will have to tend to that soon.
  3. To be honest, I'm not sure. I was going to use one over aluminum because newer cars run plastic tanks (apparently) and also it'll bend and hopefully not crack if I have a smash.
  4. I want to replace my fuel tank with a plastic fuel cell. Do I need to plump it to the external filler?
  5. Anyone got any of these hanging around? I want to do some crazy test fitting on my car before I go out and buy wheels that don't fit! Cheers.
  6. Yah, I'll agree. did a good job with mine too.
  7. Rota. Check eBay, shit's cheap.
  8. Yeah, cruise as in driving long distance and not getting pulled over. Still need to get back in there and do the retune soon. Will have to set about some time to retrieve the exact settings that things are running at.

    Painting over chrome

Hrm, yes. Cheers KK, that's what I heard. One of the powder coaters said I would have to get them stripped at an electroplater - another just said that they would scuff them up (dependent on the quality of the chrome).
  10. Basically, I have some chrome bumpers that I want to be black. Powder coaters want between $70-90 for each bumper (scuffing, priming, coating, clear) which is not really a bad deal. How ever, I'd like to do this cheaper. Spray-bomb style - for now at least. What is the best way to get paint to stick to chrome? Is this going to end up pricy enough that I should just go for the coater? Cheers.

    Rose Joint Life

AFAIK Tony uses bushes, not rose joints.
  12. What's the deal with having a tint visor and removing your internal sun visors?

The four link will be like 7 times the price of replacing the joints...

    Rose Joint Life

Hrm. I don't want to spend too much as the set up will hopefully be being replaced in the near-ish future with a 4-linked bushed setup.

I've sent an email to the Bolt Shop up here. Will see what they say. Will check out Auckland Engineering Supplies on the weekend perhaps.

Can you expand on this? Do you mean just wrap them?

    Rose Joint Life

Hey guys, The ladder bar which secures the diff in my car to the chassis is fully rose jointed, 2 on the diff and 1 on the chassis mount/x-member. The diff has started to get real clunky and it's obvious movement in the mounting components. I haven't yet checked to make sure everything is nice and tight but I'm wondering how long these rose joints should last for and whether or not they warrant replacing? I'd say they've been on there for about 4 years now. Thrashing, etc. Brad, was it you I was talking to about this? Someone said that rose joints don't last that long... Chuuurs
