looking at going rotor...

that palmside pedalbox is f**n exspensive.... do they not do just a hydraulic clutch kit??

well,im always in multiple minds when planning stuff ae... looking at getting a 10a rotor for it,bridgeported..just cos no-one ever does 10a's.. ill definately wait to see the box i get for it though,cos being an early 4spd rx box it maybe smaller than a s1 5speed.which will be good.. its the hydraulic set up thatl get me,thats why i went with a k50 cable box when i did the 4age conversion in my last escort...

has anyone here enlarged a gearbox tunnel before? whats involved? i wanna find out the easiest and best way to do it.. possibly enlarge the tunnel in my mk2 4dr escort for "something" also,how do you put a hydraulice clutch set up into a car thats got cable clutch?seeing as escorts never had hydraulic cant just chuck it in..

that front looks like a 12a turbo plate to me,but i would say there rx4 housings...although my s4 had similar writing...

yeah i "lost" a good wheelbrace in auckland years ago..some c**t hit my car trying to squeeze into my lane,he wouldnt pull over so i rolled past him and biffed it at him,got him good..

wouldve had to wait a while for one of those to roll past i still dont have a whel brace sorted though

when i picked up the escort from waimate,i was driving back home,in the lindis pass the arse was vibrating hard out,was getting worse,so i pulled over and found all 4 wheelnuts were only held on by 1/2 a turn...so damn lucky man...i had no wheel brace,so i flagged down a guy in a suby,cos i knew that subys are basically the only car with a 19mm wheel brace ....did them up and got home ok... it slotted my rostyle spare pretty good... my tip is: allways have a wheelbrace check wheelnuts on cars you buy etc..

thinking of painting it a carbon grey colour...its definately getting slammed if i can get some lowered springs for it....or i have a grinder if needed..tints new front carpet to replace the funky house carpet.. im pretty damn stoked theers no structural rust in it like most have..just the lower guards which has been patched up anyway... will either keep the same chrome rims on it or swap them for some deepdish hotwires,or go for modgies..

hey all,just swapped my van for an escort of trademe.. did the swap without viewing it,i was told it had abit of rust in the lower a pillar at the door stay,but its not rust!!!yeah!the metal was torn from the stay getting pulled out..itll buff out. just need to tidy up the lower front guards..splash abit more matt black on it and get a new tyre,then dump its arse down.. its a stock 1300 so thats gotta change real quick,gonna throw some extractors on it and a filter,maybe swap the carby... its pretty straight really,inner boot etc is mint.. will put pics up soon after the maiden 600km drive home,im still in timaru. i got it with a missing 1/4 window,but found a WHOLE DOOR FOR $20,STOKED.. its got the chrome strips that go right around the door frame too,sweet,also has a front spoiler.. theyv put in a brand new lucas alt,so i may run abit of tunes.. plans for the sounds will be one 2 6x9s,and some mids up front,running off an amp powered by my ipod.. no head deck if i can help it.. chur

main problem i see is its not 4 linked by the looks,just a single leaf which will most likely snap...seen it too often.. get a 4link or ladder bars in there... you could run some sick rims if you put the 4x4 deck and 4x4 guards on it... but if its just to haul parts,youll have fun picking crap up

i dont mind it.. you should just paint those rims white...i reckon theyd look alright in white rather than cheap chrome.. keep the 2 tone,but add pin striping at the join of the colours.. to the haters....lay frame and get laid

i once removed the cab of my ute to put the engine/box in...then lifted the cab back on..haha... ive also seen someone completely pull thier engine apart to get it out..it was just the block by itself when it came out...weak arse couldnt even lift that by himself..

plans... 1x 1972 hillman hunter 1x 12a bridgeport 1x modified nikki carb 1x severely dumped suspension 1x phat set of rims 1x killer slick paint job 2x sick bucket seats 1x rowdy mofo exhaust 1x top secret theme equals the biggest baddest hunter around... pick up the car this week.got a standard(for now) 12a and 5speed lined up..got a set of rims on order just need to find a good radiator and oil cooler,buy a fuel pump and im done,oh and some seats.. im thinking oldskool style recaro fishnets... the car is mint as,all chrome bumpers etc is mint,just needs a buff up,paint just needs a cut n polish i reckon... deloom the engine bay,polish and chrome some engine bits etc.. i want this thing to sit nice and low,but i dont really know how low these things can go... its got the double hump dash instead of the rectangle dash,so its cool oldskool,just add a tacho and some reliable oil pressure and water temp gauges..put the battery in the boot with the carter fuel pump etc.. might even put some sounds in it..something to cruise to.. from memory hunters were leaf spring rear?easy slamming in the back and coils in the front.might put an adjustable front kit in it yet...well see.. i want the whole project finished by the summernats in march.. ive already got the pain in the arse parts to get.. driveshaft(for the yoke but its long enough to use as a 1 piece) oil cooler hoses engine mounts and front bracket heaps of electronic dizzy coils got a couple of gauges too but i dont really like them... from what i recall the hunters also had a hydraulic clutch???i hope so or ill just make up a cable adaptor

may also depend on if your car is a open hatch or a sedan...my 7 has the battery in the boot where it could possibly fly forward and scone you in the head,and escort would be in a enclosed boot.. tunnel modding is a fairly serious mod,done wrong and your car could be warped...theyl probably measure for that ae... none of my stuff was "bolt on" it was all fabricated parts...
