  1. Thanks for the GPS out of your box of junk Neil, it seems to work well. Just gotta update those maps. Now that I have finally got it going with the computer. She's a treat mate, thanks again. :)
  2. Last thing you want to do is bring in some of the dead head morons that hang out down at Quay Street. I know not all are dead heads, but yeah. You don't want some young cunt causing trouble. I'm quite suprised no one has thought about bringing a full spill kit to the meet ups LOL. But who needs them.
  3. Yeah just type "tyre "explosion" into Youtube. Fuck that mate
  4. I would like to see how you go with it come re-certification time. Hope it doesn't fail on anything. At least you shouldn't need to take out the whole inside of the car.
  5. How did you connect the rev tacho, as those clusters are becoming pretty thin the the MK1 now. theres none left. I was thinking of putting in an aftermarket one on my two mirages.
  6. Your RPM needle looks like it sitting at zero at the other side lol lol lol.
  7. Hell no, the most constructive thing about this engine came from a homeless man I was chatting to in Hamilton. He said the old Mitsubishi engines of the 80's are just as reliable as the early 90's Toyota engines. My Mirage has been a hell of a far way. And if you try hard enough, you can get it to 140-150KM'S. (THAT'S NOT GOOD ON SMALL THIN TYRES)
  8. Far out, there's a few of these on the project threads, good to see. My mirage looked this good 15 years ago. Until it got badly faded. I've had mine for 2 years this month, and I'm damn surprised at how how many are still on the road here in Auckland. There used to be six of them with in a 10KM radious here in west Auckland. Now thats down to four. Two got written off, and I own another one that could have also hit the scrapper if I hadent have brought it and converted the dead automatic trans to a manual. Not to mention all the others ive seen in other areas in auckland.
  9. Yup good idea, keeping the original colour scheme.
  10. I was just about to ask, where is this article you speak of?
  11. Good Meet, it's always a good meet when that jolly funny Welshman turns up lol lol ha ha. See yous at the next one
  12. Ohh well, I'm about to leave a semi warm house. and wonder out into the wind and rain to attend the meet. There's no going back now. My mirage is full of junk too. Shit.
  13. I'm only going to come if I find an LED / LCD TV on the side of the road like last time. I got $230 for it. Going there or coming back, I don't care.
  14. But on another note, I'm down for a crazy cruise. Mirage time.
  15. Man I wish I was old enough to do all that shit, back then. All I remember as a youngin in the late 90's early 2000's are all the boy racers that used to hoon around in the early 80's Ford Lasers, and Mazda 323's and Ford Cortina's / Escorts and KE Corollas and Toyota Starlets. Then came the Fast and the Furious movie in 2002 and before ya know it they were then driving multicoloured Mazda Familia's with wacky body kits. That what I remember seeing when I was young. And those days are gone. Fast And The Furious did change the scene though. Big time.
  16. Is the plastic trim piece the thin one or the wider one (usually seen on mirages from 83 onwards) I haven't been able to get louvers, I saw two at pick a part a year and a half go. But wasent too sure how they would have mounted to the rear window. As they seemed to be missing their mounting thingys. I got some chrome monsoons from pick a part. And they are easily taken off other cars. They're quite common.
  17. Sweet as bro, another project thread for the ol mirage. I'm crazy for these and own two of them. One I brought back in September for $800 with an automatic trans. Which had the same troubles you described. Couldent be effed with flushing it and so forth. As much as I would have liked to try, and keep the auto trans I didn't and converted it to a manual from one at the Zebra Wreckers yard here in Auckland. They haven't been too hard, to get parts for, which I'm surprised at, didn't need to scrap my green mirage for the manual trans thank god. Keep up the good work, if you need help you only needs ask mate. Cheers
