  1. Is it possible to tell whether our engine mounts could do with replacing? Just thought it might save a bit of time down the track if we do them while we have the engine out... Cheers ft. overkill resolution
  2. That 3D model is awesome! What software did you use for it?
  3. definitely need a pic of those 14x10s
  4. Got a second opinion on the hole that needed plugging and now we have a plugged hole (who knows what issues this might solve/prevent). Deep into exams at the moment but the list is getting pretty short: Head back on Engine mounts Clutch Gaskets etc Oil filter Then back in the hole. Got a spot of rust that'll we'll have to attend to before WoF but trying not to think about that at this stage.
  5. The best way to do it is upload the photos to another website (i recommend imgur or flickr) then get the BB code links and paste them into your reply - let me know if you need more info. Sick car man.
  6. Yea just biffed the fan on quickly for the photo if I'm honest. Will put it on properly once it's on its way back into the hole.
  7. Gave the engine a nice coat of paint, and in the process of changing the clutch - decided to invest in a flywheel puller, had no trouble pulling it off. Doesn't cease to amaze me how these small cars seem to have the biggest nuts! Got a few other shiny bits too.
  8. Minibitz in hendo will have whatever you need for pretty reasonable prices. Theres a ton of stuff on eBay. Tardme is pretty reliable. Repco still stock more than you'd expect - gaskets, waterpump etc..

  10. Welcome to the club matey, here's a discussion thread of your very own. Build thread
  11. Gave the engine a good cleaning and attacked various parts with a wire wheel. Started painting, going with a nice BRG for the rocker cover (see below), silver for the box, diff and bell housing, and black for the block and head. Quick question - we're pretty sure the bell housing is aluminium? And we wire wheeled it back to bare metal.. Do we have to use a special primer to stop corrosion or is a normal engine primer fine? 12. Churs to Ethan for the use of the crane and to Daryl for the know how. Here's a wee time-lapse feat. a lot of mucking around by the FL hub. Now what to do with a car sans engine...
  13. Finally have some time off uni to give Maggie the love and attention she deserves. Took here to her first monthly meet which was a cool time, but now she's off the road again to get her engine overhauled. Haven't fully decided the extent to which we are going to refurb it but given it's mainly an educational exercise it won't be a biggy. At the moment the list is: - Main engine seal - New clutch - Valve seats hardened (anyone done this?) - New water pump - Fresh coat of paint (engine and bay) - New gaskets/seals/some hoses Got her into hover mode and started pulling it all out. Will hopefully borrow an engine crane and get it out in the next week. Chur for looking, more to come.
  14. All i got sorry. Here are a couple of others... (spent more time looking than shooting)
  15. Maggie will come along for post exam hangs
  16. Thanks dude! They are pretty manky so will definitely paint them. Originally were gonna match them to the car but the white is kinda starting to grow on us.. We are just about to finish exams so should get some more work done over the next few weeks.
  17. hnnnnnngggh those shots look good man.
  18. Any way of telling? http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=886669424
  19. Little bit of tech support required... Which twin SU carbs will fit Maggie? Do they have to be from a 1300 engine? Cheers
