  1. Cheers for the dinner, plus it was nice to try out the Viva 253ci combo to see if it will fit without cutting it (it wont damn it!!!) Paddock burnouts coming soon?
  2. 400ci of smog death motor 400m Clevo! C6 of utter dependability, and stoic 9 inch. Geared for comfort rather than speed, but getting better as I rip off various gadgets and Gizmo's developed to suck horsepowers and Gasoline
  3. Project discussion here. Do you want me to continue the story, or get into the nitty gritty of decrepit Torino ownership? //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/46118-zebra-dudes-1976-ford-gran-torino/
  4. So here it is discussion time again Love/ hate/questions/ Spam? lets have it
  5. How many good stories begin with "well I was a little bit drunk" ? A couple of Xmas ago me and my best mate had a couple of beers, then several more, then we started on the shots, I'm not sure what happened, but I clearly remember the talk getting around to cars I've never owned "Gran Torino!" I spouted, "loved Starsky and Hutch as a kid always wanted one never had one", my best mate asked why? we got onto ebay, I dont remember anything else, nothing. In the morning I found out I had won a 1976 Ford Gran Torino in Red, crap I thought, I cant afford this! I was wrong, Very wrong. It turns out I had won a four door Gran Torino in Denver Colorado for the extremely expensive sum of $650, it didn't run and was fully illegal, Damn it I thought, payed the money and put it into storage in a bit of a huff, $50 a month in Denver. Three months later, I was sent a link to an incredible auction going on in Nebraska, 500 cars all from 1950-1985 200 of them Brand new, no reserve scrap starting price. I gotta go i thought, I called NZ Hot Rodder, lined up a story and then called a mate in the UK, "pack ya bags for the 1st Sept, we're off on a road trip" where? he said, "across America" I replied. " great, what are we driving?" Ive got that sorted I replied. $50 later the Torino was in a garage getting its dizzy replaced, a couple of ball joints and a quick service, and ready to roll she was. I flew into Denver, jumped off the Plane grabbed a cab to the storage yard, and there in the corner sat a dejected looking Torino, she fired up first time and we roared out of the car park tyres blazing Starsky style.
  6. I've had photo's of it for years, its in Southern California, the guy bought it direct from the film company, it's stood since then!!!!!!!!
  7. Man you wont believe the grief I had deviating from stock, since my car is a 1 0f 1, but honestly once you modify a car it truly is a 1 of 1. Since I've already gone the modify route I may go a LOT further Drums are great to stop you once, but only once, and not from high speed, since everyone who's ever been in a car with me knows that I drive like James Hunt after a particularly large party, and the Moosetang weighs as much as your average aircraft carrier, disc's are definitely in its future
  8. So hopefully the Mustang will be Landed in NZ in January sometime, fingers crossed. Bronze you are totally correct Toby HB Halicki was a wrecker owner too, and he's kind of my hero, and you are also spot on the ball with the amassing of cars. Yep it is going exactly where you think its going, we will be making a short movie at some point in time, we did a photo shoot with the Torino the other day, I'll get us all involved when the time comes And yeah Drums, I have no idea why the Disc option box wasn't ticked, but it certainly should have been
  9. Awesome cars, BMW bankrupted them to take them out in the 60's, really interesting story! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Borgward The cars were seriously over engenered and parts are available from OZ http://www.borgwardisabella.com/ There are a couple of clubs for them too! I saw them and I was worried that nobody would save them. They are rare and quite desirable in Europe, but virtually unknown here. any help you need P.M me and I'll see what I can do. Great save dude
  10. Err yes and yes! Ok confession time, I'm a film tragic, Elenore, yep the real one has been a favorite of mine for a long, long time. Mine is originally a 73 Sports roof in Bright yellow, exactly like the real one (the real one was a 71, disguised like a 73. mines a real 73, disguised like a 71 dressed up as a 73, mind blown? Eventually it will become a true Elenore, it was bought new from Friendly Ford in Fresno so its pretty close to where Halicki bought (stole if you believe the legend!!!!) His. I'm loving the Matt Black at the moment, so it will be staying like that for a while, it has gained some spoilers and stuff at the moment, but eventually it will probably go back to Yellow, and become a proper Elenore clone. Currently running an exciting 2v 302, but much hotness coming that way soon. I'll up date some of the progress on it soon. Vince it might look a little bit like a 120y coupe, but I like them too Maybe a little bit like a matt black Mitsi Coupe too come to think of it. Tom, you will always read these posts in my voice from now on, its unavoidable, because I write exactly like I speak. Mad max fans, if you think this is cool, you wait till you see my Armored Post Apocalyptic ZG Fairlane build!!!! Thanks for the kind words guys, it gives me much happiness to have some oldschool approval
  11. I probably need to start a couple of build threads I think, I just thought I'd start somewhere!
  12. Discuss, spam , love, hate here //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/46029-zebra-dudes-1973-musang-sportsroof/
  13. So here it is. The discussion thread for my Mustang, some work has been done and I'll add the updates as and when I can. Cons It doesn't run. Some of the floor is missing It has drum front brakes The interior has disintergrated its in America. Pro's I love it It was seriously cheap it has only had two owners genuine 58,000 miles its a desert car, so no major rot. its a 1 of 1 car, the only Mustang built with the trim colour, body colour combo and has a really extensive and weird option list. Help/advice/spam all welcome
  14. Hi Everyone Thought I'd show you my new/old Mustang Project. I've been after a 71-73 Mustang for years, I grew up with a mate who rebuilt one in his garage, and we had lots of awesome times going to shows and generally burning people off for years. Anyway since I'm nearly 40 I got all nostalgic and actually bought one, not a nice one, and not a running one, one that had been left in the desert for 15 years! Great! Oh and it's actually in Bakersfield! It was cheap tho!
  15. 280 Hp!!!! man that's the good one, Mine, not so much. Its due for a rebuild tho, so I guess its upgrade time as soon as I pull it apart. Awesomely comfortable tho
  16. Man Awesome film, awesome car!!!!! We've done the shoot this time, but we'll be sure to invite you to the next one, Neils painting his Holden in MOT colours
  17. Fair play that was awesome. Crown coupe and Lancia Gamma, I'm fully Blown away, never seen either of those cars on the road ever!!!! Plus Mexican and Magarita's what can I say? I can say next time Neil, I'm bringing the Thunder, even if I have to cut off the Torino's exhaust, cut a hole in the bonnet and stick the exhaust through it Bosozoku style, I WILL have a car thats louder than your Holden, By the Power of Greyskull, I must!!!
  18. I am going to park it directly next to you, I may even lock you in it for a while
  19. Err I have to deliver a Holden Combo, so will be coming in this, but I'm parking upstairs, because Combo's are cool, right? Please don't hold this against me, normal service will be resumed next meeting.
  20. I may owe you some boxes Mr 808, most were exploderated by the combination of HQ, Torino and Pointy Scorpion Bumpers! A fun time was had by all, and man Neil really knows how to wear your Beige suit
  21. Actually thats an awesome idea Maybe I'll fire up the Oxford (now delivered!) and put on my flat cap
  22. I'm in, what can I bring?, the Gran Torino is beginning to attract attention from the 5-0! All of my cars are so illegal its not funny. I may have to come undercover in the Zebra fun bus, unless I pull my finger out.
