Is there any advantage of being classed MC rather than MA?

Also, while I've got you here,
if your sisters truck is a slide off camper on a flat deck, is it registered as motorhome or commercial vehicle? Difference in rego cost?
-
Thanks for making me look this up though, it must have changed recently-ish. I think it used to be gvm 6000kg but loaded under 4500kg

Maximum glw or gcw of 6000kg, doesn't matter how much it's loaded

@Pee Dubs did you get some new tyres yet?
-
Kodiak and deemaxx are still available.
Tip out the oil and grease them.

I think you would find the springs will find a way to be above the equaliser, probably with a bang.
If the axles were underslung and the springs above equaliser, what is the ride height then?
If the braked axle was underslung, spin it around (left side becomes right side) then your brake brackets should be back to the same position. (Edit; looks like you already did this)
The front spring shackle looks like it would go up inside the crossmember?

Isn't it a no impact, no abs therefore no compliance type deal?

There's the odd registered xr150 show up on tm. Usually around the $3/3500 mark. I even saw a legal xr190.
I think most people don't realize the abs rule.
Mine came from a group of 5 or 6 that got registered just before Nov 21. They got ridden all the way to Skippers Canyon, Nevis and back.
I paid $3k for this one, then fully stripped down everything except engine and rebuilt, repainted, bearings and cables.

Just looking at maps, French pass looks like a lot of exposed Ridgeline?
And kenepuru is following the coast in the bush?

I guess you can turn off before the wairau river on day two, and go through taumarina. But rarangi is gonna be a good hike at the end of a big day.
It's 17 mins from your motel
If we're not in too late or too shattered I'd be keen to hit up that beer garden restaurant again.

Recommend Maitai valley camp in Nelson, and Rarangi doc camp Blenheim for tenting. That's where I'll be. And probably one of the vehicles too.

When I was a kid my old man built an electric kart from a 12v car battery and a 6v vw generator. It would do jogging/ running speed and would last for hours.
Drive through a V belt, tensioning the belt was the Speed control
And a morris minor window reg as a steering rack
