  1. yeah its in parts as he was about to rebuild it and add a hole lot of power but its had one cylinder thats had a sleeve put in it and will need new cam pistons some machine work. heads seem to be alright. i have a couple of celica gear boxes here that my dad had planned on using for my other sedan so yea would just try make them work. also have hubs and disc brake set up away in the shed like whats on my sedan but by doing that i lose the 5x100 stud pattern and cant rock the og steelies he wants roughly 400 for it in peaces. spindles are roughly 700 and i can still drive around and look cool. once i get it going. oh i got new shoes for it today should be here wednesday so will go over brakes again.

OHHH MAN!!! this build thread must suck something chronic none of my photos want to load on my computer. hope this isnt the same for everyone else out there reading this. all my photos are still live and visible on my face book. stuff is lame but i have started using photobucket for my photos hope this fixes the problem. i paid for my oldschool nats and with that i went online and ordered my last part for the new engine hoping to have this engine in for nats. this next few months are going to be some busy months of working hard fixing cars and trying to make this work. found my old clutch plate so thats getting sent off to be rebuilt so i have a fresh clutch plate for when the engine gets removed and changed. i also had the best new years day. piled 6 of us into the valiant and shot out to raglan for a swim and some fush n chups and nabbed this photo. roll on 2015 and the good times. will see you all in 15 days at Kumeu car show
  5. so yea took the valiant for another drive and done a skid. brakes are still dumb so i pulled them apart to find not much of the shoes left on the front so il wait till the local shop is open again go price up so new shoes. also got a website for drop spindles from a fellow member so waiting till those shops are open as well so i can find out prices/order some. i dont see the point of pulling this apart to put new shoes to buy the spindles 2-3 months down the track to pull them apart again. so i SOAKED!!! everything in WD40 and will continue to do that later today to make sure everything is well and truly soaked and easy to pull apart when i get into it. also done some weight reduction and cleaned some dirt out while i was at it. left side right side the wheel bearings looked good so il just jam some new grease in with them when everything gets assembled again. think thats that for now.

  7. And I tracked down the little machine shop in Victoria that supplies both of these crowds with their 2" drop spindles, save yourself $300+ on drop spindles! Do you mind sharing I am after two sets one for my wagon and one for my sedan

HIGH FIVE!!!!! welcome to the valiant family!!!! essage me if your after some parts and il ask the mates around hamilton who also hord valiant parts like myself. also let me know im buying parts from hemi performance tomorrow so if u want in on the shipping and bla bla il hold off to make it cheaper. as for that FUCK YEAH!!!! WAGON LIFE!!!! also hemiperfomance nz are under new owner ship and are now bassed in chch and have a face book page also

  10. done some work on the wagon over the weekend!!!! tried pulling the starter motor apart to see what was wrong with it..... yeah broke that more so i went to my work and had a look in the parts selection i have and found 2 starter motors. one looked to be rebuilt already. mini man was over so he jammed that in. fixed a couple of exhaust leaks while we were working on it. thats that problem solved for now replaced the radiator cap then played with the carburetor for a little bit. ripped the lpg thingy off it cause the top wasn't fastened and mini man said it was shaking like a belly dancer. now thats that sorted as well. so now it goes!!! and goes easy!!! oh i also replaced the spark plugs the other day. then i bleed the brakes today and yea that kinda worked i think well other than the left hand side locking up..... i also had a problem getting one of the bleed lose so i jammed a 6 mm socket on it/then couldnt get it out so i went to the back garage to find some spear drums and ripped that out as well while i was under the back i thought i spotted some dirt coming out of the rear quarter so started hitting the rear guard and now it looks like this? here is some of the crap that fell out of it so yup il be buying a welder over this xmas brake. to do list is go over the brakes again and do something about the rust....
  11. my mate done some photo shopping and came up with this so i have now found my goal to go as low or lower than this picture....... lets see how long itl take to get there.... providing i just opened my own business so give and take a year :'(
  12. bit of a quick update i have all three valiants in one single car shed at my home now so no work will get done on them and the engine has been put on hold cause of my own business venture. but here is a pic for now and here we have a lonely valiant waiting for a mayte
  13. ahh i also got this photo before heading to minimans work of course i had tow my wagon with a sedan. this photo makes me so happy
  14. so i have finally found some time to work on my wagon. self employment is looking pretty good atm :/ knuckled down over the weekend and fixed a few things pulled my intake and exhaust off this engine i got with the 2nd sedan. my last exhaust was out on last cylinder and was about 10mm to high.... tried to separate the two of them with a gas torch and this happened to the bolts.... so yea drilled them out pain in the back side!!! thought id make some exhaust gaskets as well hahaha, jack of all trades master of just one so at this stage i was like yeah i can go steel the good carby and manifold off my green sedan and just bolt it on and be driving!! then i remembered i ground down the flats where the washers get pushed up to suit my extractors so that was a no go so back with the shitty carb it was then. so thought id better put it all back on the car and realised my last stud was also snapped in there so out with the drill again got that fixed and bolted it together. turns out i have an exhaust leak between my carb and exhaust for the hot box thing or what not........ il just make a 2nd one and jam that in there make it thicker. went to clean it at a mates shop cause i got about 20 mins in cleaning one drum and this is the pile of dirt i cam up with. enough to plant some flowers...... so yea went and got it steam cleaned at minimans work, such a good dude!! i even had a turn hahaha my bad............. also found out my starter motor is stuffed so il go pull that off so i can get that fixed found a 1/4 window hinge out in the back shed as well so put that in the window that was missing one pays to have to many ap5 valiant parts some days also found the perfect spot to read an owners manual
  15. Yea have talked to my tuner and he said he will definitely have some fun tuning it...... All go for max hp all before os drag day. time to see if I can do beter than an 18.9 1/4 haha
  16. Engine will be black with all polished bits. As for the tripples they will most definitely be going on. But more or less correctly in the car. Have to try make them work in there yet.
  17. nothing much been happening in the lines of this old girl, been focusing on the upholstery business lately, but i got a call from a mate the other day saying i needed some more parts for my engine. shot over to have a look and a chat about what i needed and came back with this photo. the list of thing i needed was crank case cover, thermostat, some water hose, gasket goo, bolts for the tapet cover and all the torque settings for the bolts. needles to say il be dropping the most of this off today minus the sump and crank case as they have been blasted and painted again. EXCITING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! oh i also went to a closed road event out side MR WEST house last weekend around 11pm and came back with half a tyre hahaha so need to sort out some kind of lsd for the rear end i think. and i came across this safari and got a quick photo next to. note the safari is for sale if any ones interested such a mint wagon but i dont have the money and its missing an ap5 front for my liking

  19. wahoooo!!!! this happened today! also thought id better do more things on the engine so i can have it up and running for os drag day. so dropped more parts off for engine to be more assembled. planning on doing it end of September beginning of October so watch this space.

  22. so i chucked the valiant up on the hoist..... couldnt find a leak or i didnt look hard enough (probably didnt look hard enough) while it was on the hoist i invited UTERUS over to use his massive amount of skills to stomp on the brake peddle so i could bleed them and since then everything is all tickety boo. well seems to be as of yet took it for a bit of a drive to my weekend job and had mates use it for a music video and its still all in one peace and still stops. i also managed to get this photo of it while my mates were doing there camera magic making a video pretty happy with how its looking atm.

  24. so yeah havnt touched the sedan in probaly 3 months now..... thought id better have a look the my brake problem and see why i was losing my brake peddle. as i drove it out of the garage while moving the other valiant around went to put my brake peddle down and yeah..... pretty much straight to the floor. so bummed around and thought ohhh wonder if it has any fluid and how that looks turns out it looks a bit like this not the site i wanted to see. il put it up on the hoist tomorrow or Thursday at my shop and see what i can find/see. just about to pull the front brake hoses off to go get some new ones made. shull wait and see....
