  1. might take the day off on monday as well. see how my ass and hands are feeling.
  2. vespa acquired. done a solid 23 od kms home and then return to work and goes solid. does an easy 80kmph would love to modify my tank for better range but will see what kinda kms i get to a tank once its repaired and not leaking. so much pine going on for east cape now. also taking the day before hand off and going to make my way to @johnnyfive via waihi and what not from home. should be a pleasurable ride.
  3. Yea pretty much. @Poo told me not to do skids on it. I said I appreciate the heads up. He then come back with "If you must do a skid dont change gear while skidding. 1st, skid, close throttle and let it come back to idle, 2nd, skid, etc." Looks like I'll be doing skids. Need to sort out a right hand side mirror and a cover for the battery box. Still trying to get the hang of the changing gears part. Seem to miss 2nd and go to 3rd quite easy
  4. @MopedNZ speed must be around 90kms I'd be picking. The speedo says 70mph but I'll be hard pressed to believe that when I had a car pass me slowly tonight. Ride home is 22kms Ish. Takes like 25 mins in the car. 30mins on the scoot. Will try strap the my phone to it In the morning see what my phone says. Will talk to the guys at work see what we can do. Cousin just messaged me about doing the coromandel loop we used to do when I rode my gsxr600 and my r6. He has a cbr1000 so a little extra speed would be nice to keep up haha.
  5. Fuck yeah. Made it home. Need to fiddle with the headlight. Rather glad its a full moon and a clear night as i needed all the help i could get with the lighting situation. Goes so good. Would be ideal to get a bit more speed out of it.
  6. Man this thing goes well. Cleaned the spark plug and put some gass in it. Temporary petrol tank... The best ever. Thanks to @Poo pointing me in the correct direction. Also need a fuel tap. This bugger is broken.
  7. Kicked it in the guts again this morning and thing started agaib with the little gas thats in it. Man the seat is uncomfortable.
  8. I think the hing and the seat was the selling point. So i put it out there if anyone was interested in the fr and my tattooest came over, viewed it, rode it and brought it. So onto the next challenge. I had been looking at vespas for a while knowingly they are semi easy to mod and parts are rather easy to obtain. Saw a 125 pop up so thought id list the fr and it sold. Also thought i better look else where to see if there where any other deals or better options. Lack of vespa knowledge i hit up @Poo cause he was the guy with more knowledge and easy to talk to regarding. Sent him the link of the 1st said sweet good. And sent him photos of the 2nd one. Which his response was "bingo thats the one" sweet so its a 1960s 150 super? Poo says its a bigger body which means the 225s fit in easy? Supposedly it has a 200px already in it. And went well but broke the fuel leaver the other day so couldn't test ride. He kicked it over and almost ran on the gas in the carb. Which i feel great. Anyway on the ute and away laughing. I'll get some better photos tomorrow/today. So much excitement going on.
  9. Bring the seat with you next time your up.
  10. sold the FR50 last night. time to find me a long distance scooter for this ride. lets see what pops up. amping
  11. Up for sale on trade me now. https://www.trademe.co.nz/1676948394
  12. Hahaha so since last event of wedding skids. We did this. Which the end result was a really slow trip to whangamata for beach hop..... A whiny diff that left all its oil on the trailer. So luckily i had the owners brother tow that beetle back and we towed my beetle back with the Subaru. Old mate of mine drove the sedan back by himself said it was rather whiny but he just turned the stereo up and she was all tumeke. Was tempted to do a swap and drive the chch nats but gave up and broke the falcon down there anyway. From there i dragged it out and cleaned it for funeral still leaving it with a whiny diff and back to the shed it went. Till today. Kegans sister is getting married and he asked if they could use the valiant to which i responded, yup but you have to fix the diff over shits still whiny as a mofo. Eneded up tripping over one upstairs at work i forgot about yesterday and today we swapped it out. Wasnt that bad two people on board. Our slide hammer to getting this axle out. And all back in. Oh the other diff did have axles in iy but when i was younger dad swapped tge stud pattern so yeah had to swap these ones out as stud pattern not the same. Now i have some break lines somewhere here ill put the front ones in and bleed the hole system up on Wednesday. Should hopefully be ready for another wedding in no time.
  13. Dude. This is os, not moped nz. We talk about it here a lot. I here @sentra has acquired a scooter and @Raizer has offloaded heaps of go fast parts to him already. Still wondering what engine size to go on the fr, just go for 110 or just go all out since Beth has said he would rather the gyro. @Zeubin have you seen this east cape thread yet?
  14. 3mm mdf would had been plenty thin enough to withhold that bend and the seat would have held it in place. what what is done is done and its a n ace of a job. better than no parcel tray and no speakers thats for sure.
  15. last year you carried your own fuel. it was kinda good that way. some bikes dont even need to carry fuel. was talking to brent last night and he was saying how good itd be to not to carry our own fuel. an here i am on trade me looking at ct110s end up looking at https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/motorbikes/motorbikes/dual-purpose/auction-1634798304.htm?rsqid=0a8b9cb459444a7e8c113620ab1cc2d5 would be so lush
  16. @Firetruck time to get a scooter ready. @mark105 you should also.
  17. Keen. I think @Mrs 64valiant wanted to come this year. See what I can pull together. @Raizer I'll come mow lawns on Monday and Tuesday so you can get a day or two off and do the hole ride. @Archetype keen again.
  18. isnt this @johnnyfive brain child? coast ride was super easy and talking to a few others would be rad to do it the opposite direction.
  19. Bump. Can we do this backwards this year? So keen.
