  1. Should be fine, but just check the ohms on the speakers, and the minimum allowable for the amp supplying (often written on the back). From memory some car speakers can be lower impedance, and will draw more current for a given power.
  2. That would be short enough I could take time out from packing house, and the 360 will have an amazing load of 2T to clear from the pipe by then.
  3. Lolworthy that there's wallpaper in your pic with the engine out. Is that paper to protect carpet on the floor? Did you drive through a sliding door into your room?
  4. Laser cost about $40 million. Guess they should have painted the drone silver. $20
  5. The editing bit for blog.com seems to have been down for a day or so... am I doing it wrong? http://blog.com/wp-login.php ? edit: it's back.
  6. Or if that don't help, get the diodes in the rectifier checked, weak diodes can leak current.
  7. These are neat! Is it just my squinty eyes, or are those barrels not round?
  8. Aw hell, you're a gent, thanks man! Is this in \YouTubings , or Joe's Discussion for the extended Lols? Folks are gonna love this! KEI-TEAM!

  10. As a qualified internet Dr, I prescribe mourning cupcake smuggle you in a pint'o'whiskey.
  11. options for creating a USB flash drive, that would burn half a laptop down. http://kukuruku.co/hub/diy/usb-killer
  12. It's a good idea, can we re schedule? next munf?
  13. Quite tempted, will have a better idea of my obligations in a few days. Food run? Could make it a gourmet tour.
  14. Thermal expansion in a connector etc miiiiight cause the symptoms, but the suggestions above are a good bet.
  15. Got a pic of where things are earthed? Are the guages / stereo sharing any wires?
  16. Laser ignition improves efficiency. http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/2015/02/princeton-optronics-laser-ignition-boost-ices-efficiency-27/#more-1008890 I wonder what engine was igniting 27% badly.
  17. Yeah thanks for that Ky. I would'a been up for a big wait from Japan again, if the blardy things are even available. Kicker: Not sure about the piston clearances, but it's all as stock as a Maggi soup sachet, give or take an oversize (1mm from memory). Jennings book is excellent. I've been through a couple of books lately, and mostly they're generalised waffle. Jennings is however a recipe: for power X, you need -revs Y, -compression Z, -port timing A, etc etc http://www.amrca.com/tech/tuners.pdf
  18. Right. The chrome (top) ring failed, but the locating pin was still there. Builder said he'd done the usual exhaust port radius, about 0.2 - 0.3mm. At his workshop, I showed him an original bore jetski motor with ~0.7 - 0.8mm chamfer at 45 degrees. Then I sent him an excerpt from Gordon Jennings excellent "Two stroke tuners handbook" Yeah, 0.4mm minimum recommended, and 2mm high on the 10 degree chamfer, which is a large change in port timing. No wonder it was down on power. I happened to have a appropriate sized piston in my stash, which measured up OK (not barrel shaped), was crack tested and fitted. He's re-shaped the ports, rebuilt it, and apart from a minor issue of a top mount / water feed cracking (replaced), it's running again. It's much crisper, and pulls through 60mph much better. Best yet, he's standing by his work, and not charging for this work. Kudos. It's been a blast tootling around in it, and true to 2T form, my hands have been grimy 4 times in the first day having it back.
  19. Tell me stories about Skope, what I missed. Anybody got a few good pics?
  20. You efi guys, I'm curious, does fuel temp affect your mix much?
  21. d = 1.38m, so 110kN @1.38m/2 = 40kNm 110kph = 30.5m/s, so 30.5 / (3.14 * 1.38) = 7rps, so 60 x 7 = 420 rpm... Power (kW) = Torque (N.m) x Speed (RPM) / 9548.8 P = 40kNm x 420 / 9548 = 1700kW ~= 2300hp Still sounds a bit high, the really big Chinese / American steamers topped out at 3000hp 6000hp, I think. Edit: There's the problem, that initial assumption. 7MW curves: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tractive_force
  22. But that's just converting to distance, and back again via ω? Work = F x d, and P = F x v but 110kN x 30.5m/s ~3MW, 4000hp, which sounds too high. I was expecting 500-1000hp.
  23. Saw the old Ja steam trains in Dunners. Tractive force blah blah blah 110kN 110kph. So is the conversion to hp force x distance x speed? Or is the assumption of max force at max speed not legit?
