^^ (replace) this. Also, I had trouble with fans in a repowered sj410, and in short the solution was proper shrouds. The air just circulated without them, (although regularly filling the rad with mud that wouldn't always wash out in a river crossing probably didn't help). -

So it's illegal to impersonate a police officer, but that doesn't apply if you're wearing Aussie or Saffa uniform, right?

If you can swing by, have a cuppa, it's all good. If evenings / another month doesn't suit, pm phone #, and we'll set up a daytime. Pay it forward, bro. -

Heh. I was amused. For onlookers, we bumped up the supply on Nick's annealer from about 250 watts to about 750 from the 1.5kW I had lying around. Cheap relay wasn't even lifting. -

Post a pic of a thing, if you want to check I've got bits, etc. -
I have a pretty well equipped electronics workshop, and would like to repay some of the assistance I've gotten over the years from the group. If you're building, repairing, programming a thing, and would like proper soldering irons, hot-air reflow, digital 'scope, etc I'll lend some time over a beer / sharn on a you pay-it-forward basis. I've got a reasonable stock / junk bin, but best plan is probably to gave a headsup what you're working on, I'll see if I've got parts, we'll see what night suits people. I'll try different nights, because people have different obligations. So, Tuesday 4, I'll be looking at my 50W LED torch, and maybe my garden / lawn / cat waterer, and who knows, maybe some other junk.

Any pref on days? GovSam has beers some Tuesdays, but it's a loooong way from GovBay

So this meet is 3rd wednesday of the month. If we wanted to have a couple of beers, while soldering shit at my office, when? Say 1st tuesday/wednesday of the month? I have electronics stuff, so for those jobs like quick chip replacements etc, this could be a go. I'd like it to be semi-regular, but my work circumstances may change soon.

Ah, per bike spam thread, I'm thinking about hot-glueing a stirling engine together, maybe using a gt125 with 90deg offset crank. I have a client who has ~1kw gas at ~300deg, and needs 100W electrical. Stirling engines need low thermal mass to get big temp change for expansion/contraction, I had it backwards back there: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stirling_engine

Also, Physics guys. Where's a table of the specific heat capacity of gas at, sat 20degC and 1 atmos? If I wanted to pick a gas for high heat capacity, do I use Sulfur Hexafluoride? Edit, nope https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stirling_engine#Operation

I need a 100W stirling engine. Anyone making them commercially?

Because windows had me confused for a while. If it goes to sleep after a couple of minutes, even though you've set up the screen / power settings, here's how to enable the 'secret' setting to be able to adjust the "System unattended sleep timeout" function: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/246364-power-options-add-system-unattended-sleep-timeout.html

Not for me, but my vote should count for less. Nape Nape is not what it was, and would need a reccy before deciding, I think.
