Just realised the pictures are all gone - I'll try fix it this weekend who has a tonner nose cone for cheap? have a spare hq one with a crack/split in it. Have decided on a paint scheme beige roof and copper base - will be hammerite painted on for max shitness. Its self leveling and the black stuff so far is looking good. WIll splash out and get $3 paint brushes next time
-
Ordered and recieved a $10 aliexpress electric fuel pump. Put it in today - its a bit noisy but works well - will need a pressure reg though as its dripping out the overflow of the carb

The 253 is still in a partial state of dissassembily but have acquired a 3 speed box (thanks again neal) which is resting next to the v8. Spent a few hours in the garage tonight with some paint. Will get pics tomorrow. I had fuxed the fuel pump last week and had it sunning nicely on petrol but the pump has decided to pump fuel into the sump

Havent fixed any oil leaks yet. Ran the truck up on the dyno to sort the miss fire etc out. Drives beautifully now (no hesistation/backfiring etc) Made A whopping 140 wild american horsies @3600 at the back wheels with 219ftlbs of torque.

here is some arc welded awesomeness Busted out my mad cad skills

I've ordered some exhaust gaskets and a carb calibration kit. Will get the mrs to pick up a new dizzy from segedins tomorrow as its cheaper than getting a new coil, cap, and rotor. Hopefully that will help the missfire and I'll know everything is good when it comes time to tune it https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=yeju3pbopMg i'd love to have to have mint this low but is probably not livable. I do like the quad exhaust tip though so after a few drinks I dragged my arc welder out and started. It looks ok considering the tools and level of caring I had

Been a month and all I've done is chang the oil and put a shiny air filter housing on it, Oh and new rocker cover gaskets. I've ordered a calibration kit for the carb and will attempt to fix the exhaust and trans leaks .

Can anyone recommend a place to get the carb tuned? I have set idle mixture and timing, Its running heaps better but still smells rich and hesitates/ uses way too much fuel
