  1. Glued the last piece down and chopped out the speaker hole. I'll borrow a sewing machine for the final covering or layer. It won't be less bright than this one
  2. Collected the manifold today. Measured up and the runners are a fair bit bigger. Should flow less badly than stock
  3. Yes it was. I did wave back but probably too late to catch you
  4. I ordered some super cheap foam backed stuff two weeks ago and the couriers finally delivered it. Made a start on the first wrap, there are a few cuts that aren't perfect but this is just the first layer. When I get my hands on a sewing machine it'll look less bad Will pop out and grab some more glue shortly to do the last side the material didnt like the nails in the deck but again it'll be covered
  5. Picked up a seal kit and new pistons for the calipers. Once the new front hoses arrive I'll give the calipers a birthday. It gets a bit touchy on the first few stops and the brakes aren't as good as they used to be. Rear stuff is all new (3?years ago) so I'm picking it'll be a sticky caliper
  6. So my sinco kit arrived today. Looks damn good. I'm thinking I probably should have ordered the next size up piping as I'll need to get creative to fill in the gaps with the factory oval ports on the Honda head. But then again the flange for the turbo is fairly small The collector is a work of art though. Pity I'm going to ruin it with my mig lol
  7. About 600 more than mine was worth at the time hah. I don't remember if it was for sale or was in a photo with soneone.
  8. Yours was actually worth something when you sold it though. Because dohc vtec yo! Pretty sure I saw your old one pop up on Facebook the other day! One of my $200 shuttles is still. Kicking around, it's been resprayed but (surprisingly) still running. It sat for years the I chucked a rangi turbo kit on it And I'm too much of a piner to sell mine
  9. I was looking for something else when I was in the garage today and found this Barry spec coil tester I made a while ago. Ne555 ic producing a output to a Honda ignitor module which goes to a couple of flying leads to attach to a coil
  10. I've found a Cain manifold locally for not a bad price I'll go collect it this week. My searching for 2 barrels that aren't hollys hasn't been successful so far. Also I don't like fucking around with jets and emulsion tubes etc etc I figured a tbi setup will be moderately less shit than a carb and heaps easier to tune. Ages ago a got a black injected 202 dizzy for a steal. I got a couple of spare hei modules for my old chevy van off aliexpress because cheap and spares. They provide a nice tach output and coil ignitor in one. I barried up a quick test tonight as a proof of concept and it does work with the 202 pickup. I didn't get a tach output but also don't have a 4 pin plug so couldn't probe stuff https://i.imgur.com/lF946ez.gifv
  11. What are you wanting for that lot? My plan initially was tbi and a Honda ignitor (becaue I've got lots of them) driving a dumb coil bank through the stock dizzy. Or I have also got a est dizzy so can connect that either directly to the ecu or through a gm hei module (and use that for coil control too) I'm very aware wasted spark and sequencial injection is muuuch better. At the end of the day it's a crappy holden 6 and the heads/intake manifolds are garbage for flow so I'm unlikely to benefit from sequencial injection or wasted spark and I'd like to keep it as stock as possible in appearance because barry I do have access to a xp laptop with serial port so that'll work well enough for what I need
  12. oooh thats nice! Pity its about 700 dollars over budget hah I could butcher a stock manifold and use some of this https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32902865173.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.42836db8U7fNTJ&algo_pvid=8943ecd3-dfd3-4b56-8cdd-5495bc20379a&algo_expid=8943ecd3-dfd3-4b56-8cdd-5495bc20379a-4&btsid=0ab6d67915896941077311896e58ad&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_,searchweb201603_ Edit #3 Could also go down the hoolly sniper 2 barrel or Fi tech route if I wanted to spend lots lol.
  13. @shrike the issue with using any (cheap) 202 9 port manifold is the third runner is mega short and gives zero room for a injector let alone a fuel rail. I'd need to chop and do a forward facing plenum or similar
  14. so I've found a cheap ems stinger on facebook which has nudged me in the direction of injecting the 202. I know tbi or single point injection is shit but its less shit than a carb. Will be keeping a eye out for a EA falcoon TBI module. Any suggestions on alternative tbi units? The other option would be figure out how to mount 3 individual injectors on the runners without looking like shit
  15. I'd say go for it should work nicely
  16. Had a exciting delivery today. I've got a few extra outputs and inputs to play with so I can use it to control rear diff disengagement clutch or extra fans or shift lights etc. extra goodies as I said before are Bluetooth data logging, coil on plug conversion, pwm boost control. So with the stock chipped ecu I get most of the features (everything I want for this build) for half the cost of a entry level link or haltech
  17. Just needed a bulb. Too easy
  18. So I was one of those sad sacks who went to zebra/pick a part as soon as they opened. Zebra delivered a later model rocker cover and coilpacks. should tidy stuff up heaps. I'll trim some stuff off, get my mate to weld a AN fitting on and weld up the dipstick hole Heres a bonus barry photo (fuck you photobucket) from about 2010. Yes I had have a problem
  19. Went and got it from the lockup today took it home and washed the genuine barn find dust has been washed off (don't tell the council). Looks okay wet, I'll have to give it a good detail one day past me even did a oil change before I parked it up. Must be good for another 5 years at this rate lifters still sound bad but I'll install another radio to fix that. Booked in for a wof check tomorrow. Did a light check and fondles all the grease nipples. Place bets on failure sheet now
  20. in today's installment of I'm a tightarse and a Barry 1x $20 clearance muffler. 3" inlet and twin 2.5" outlet. Thats not going to work with the 2.25" piping chop the ends off you don't need chop a piece of plate the right size and hot metal glue it wang the 2.5" end over the 3" taper bit and weld that up too. accidentally do a okay looking weld bit of flap disc and paint love and its as good as new!
  21. i've got one of those vacuum bleeders and they are a bit shit. I've never had success vacuum bleeding brakes with them. works mint for clutches though I got one of these and it works real good for one man bleeding brakes
  22. I saw one that had checker-plate on the inside of the manifold which was similar to that one on facebook yeah I'd be interested in that one for sure! I found a DINGO manifold in aus for cheap but the guy wasn't interested in shipping it I've found a weber 32/36 thats been jetted for a 202 for a reasonable price so no drama if there isn't a carb with the manifold
  23. Barried up the start of a 3" dump for @Raizer van for hero churbo diesel spool noises
  24. @CUL8R I saw that in my trawling and thought about it. will flick them a message and see how much they want They want 1200 for that and a set of rusty extractors so I'll pass on that
  25. Stock redline is 8500/9k in my daily euro r so I imagine with springs and a bit less weight it'll be happy at 9 all day This is a fun motor in a heavy accord. It should be amazing in a light starlet!
