  1. Got my ball joints sorted and stripped all of the front suspension parts to paint. Was gonna powder coat everything but being that I have only a small amount of funds allocated to this rebuild I decided to paint everything with POR15 and then chassis black. Have read a bit about this stuff and there's about a 50/50 split on whether it is a good product or not, thought I'd give a go and if it is shit I'll bite the bullet and powder coat.. anyway, pics.. New ball joints From this to this To this So far it seems to be quite good, nice and smooth (bar a few runs but hey, its fucken suspension) even looks like powder coating, just need to assemble it and reinstall it, whould like to have painted my springs yellow but it seems generic paints don't like POR15..
  2. haha.. always the way.. there are plenty of rx7 sway bar links for sale, I just need to know if they are in any way the same to rx4/5
  3. 76/77 on has a wishbone style bottom arm, no radius arm and separate sway bar links, while pre has an I beam type and uses the sway bay as a radius arm
  4. Nah i fucked them.. I had to cut them off as they were rusty..
  5. Yeah bro, front end.. trying to get nice new shiny stuff is proving fairly hard
  6. Does anybody know what the differences are (if any) between rx4/5 sway bar links and s1 rx7? mine were all rusted up, I can't seem to find any rx4/5 links but can find rx7.. Also rx4 s3 and rx5 control arm bushes are no where to be found only rx4 s1/2 which has a a different setup. cheers, Thomas
  7. *gag.. I have a friend in oz who suffers the same debilitating condition, especially in winter.. feel for ya bro
  8. Is that orange blaze? nice car that.. be worth a bit of money too.. I've seen them go for for over 100k in oz
  9. Spent the afternoon cleaning up all the suspension components to reinstall, not gonna go with coilovers as I don't need to adjust my ride height.. *edit: well that was bullshit as you will see..
  10. Hey bro have you tried graham at enford spares, I got the extractors for my zephyr from him
  11. Picked up my engine gearbox and diff yesterday and gave it a clean on the trailer out front, gearbox was fucken dirty but came up good, left a bit of an oil slick on the road and down the gutter haha.. Shit on the trailer, Storage is pretty full with the landau now in there, All cleaned up.. Box still needs some cleaning and the engine some paint, no sure wether to paint the same colours or change to more modern styles..
  12. Hah, picked the engine, box and diff to day and noticed that the dif is 5 stud WTF?!.. discovered after a bit of research that its an ms112 diff hahaha.. dunno what happened to my rx5 diff, no matter as I'm starting to consider my BW one anyway Fuck my memory's bad.. have no idea where the crown diff came from, will bolt straight into my ms75 and give me rear discs.. funny shit
  13. Tropic gold was by far the most popular colour.. including mine. Must have been one of the one's that I saw
  14. What colour was it? The first one I ever saw was on Rutherford St crossing Ferry Rd.. in the late 90's. I'm pretty sure it was a gold colour
  15. How long ago was that? The muscle car boom has made even crap 6cyl shells worth about 5-6k, a complete car over 10 even if its stuffed. My landau is probably as bad as it gets although more and more people are taking them on this bad as they become harder and more expensive to buy in good condition...
  16. 27mm of fuck off body roll... next to a standard bar Had this sway bar made up, Nolathane actually had bushes to fit.. bit of comparison with my falcon rear discs.. might have upgrade I reckon Those discs are from a Borg Warner rear that I upgraded to a 9" on my wagon, has a 4 pinion lsd that I reco'd.. only has 15ks on it, am seriously thinking about having it shortened for the 121..
  17. Where do they get their old cars? If they even have older cars.. I went to a few PaP's in melbs and older cars were hard to come by.. by old I mean pre 70's
  18. haha yeah, I regret selling my mint blue EB1 honda civic.. i'm 6'5 and it was easier to get in and out of than my zephyr..
  19. 4x120 I think, only a couple of other cars share it.. some early Hondas and some euro cars(peugeot?)
  20. yeah, apparently tho the japs loved them, prob is that americans had a taste for autos and Rx5+rotary+auto=slow... that make two cars I now own that flopped.. shame about your other two, I still think they're hard to sell now but in saying that I just got 600 for one with a dead reg so maybe things are on the up.. Cheers bro, as a matter of fact I have a pair of nos surrounds direct from japan, but they are def for keeps although I'm thinking about maybe taking a mould for them so I don't have to use them
  21. Crushed? bugger, that may have happened to my silver one if I didn't sell it, stripped of course.. how long ago did you crush them? The red rx5 looks pretty sick, I can't understand why people don't like them, the driving positions awesome, they handle better than pretty much all of the previous mazdas, they do look top heavy with standard rims on tho. As for the stud pattern, it does tend to make new alloys out of reach but steel wheels can have stud patterns changed pretty easy, I've even had my minilites slotted to fit and then slotted back to standard (dunno if that's possible anymore).. who knows..
  22. Cheers bro, hopefully this one won't be a long one, then I can start my wagon.. good to know about parts, any specific 121 parts?
