  1. Oh what a day! Next up is to lengthen the swing arm.
  2. Did a bit of work on the V50 today in preparation for the annual QCR "Dirtmasters" day. Stretching, springer front and Mad Max inspriations... Cutting it down and spacing it out. Square to round dongle cut off a spare FR50 frame
  3. I have no idea, havent really had much to do with them, its got some pretty lush woodgrain going on if that makes a difference?
  4. First up was to tidy up the deck After a trip to mitre 10, I came home with a cheap sander and tin of stain. Throw in a bit of black paint and I was quite happy with the results.

  7. Ahoyhoy! I bought a ute yesterday, not just any ute but the formidable and iconic B1600! A staple within the NZ car scene. 12A's, guide coats and camo door cards often spring to mind, luckily for me this one has been kept in an original unruined condition by a fellow OS member. Thats about to change....
  8. did some more tinkering today. Finished the main part of the frame and the inner thingys to hold the wheels on. Then I realized they're upside down. Wheels may fall off if not done up tight.....
  9. So ive started cutting up the two Raleigh's at work to make a terrible yet awesome contraption! The rickshaw/pedicab/tuktuk project has begun.... what i did today Then i ran out of steel. I ran out of skill well before i even started so stand by for fails
  10. Over the weekend i stripped down the Raleigh, taking pictures of progress and work being done. Then 90% the photos corrupted. Yay. Anywho i cleaned it all up, fitted new tyres, tubes and bar tape then painted it matt black with an awesome plan in mind.... gave it a quick stencil spray in satin black to try get a cool subtle pattern. I failed. 3 times. It looked like shit so i gave up. New plan is advan colours. Newer plan is JPS scheme! ooooo yeeeeehh
  11. The BSA was a shitty piece of shit when i got it. A friend and I worked out some sweet deals and he ended up sandblasting and painting it for me. After that was some new white grips, amazing condition chrome wheels from one of the Raleighs, a new white chain and a sweet basket. Jane is super happy and it looks so good on a sunny day. I never took before pics but this is how it is after a wee ride today. All it needs now is the seat retrimmed white and itll be done
  12. I got the Skylark and BSA bikes around 2 months ago and started tinkering "i aint ridin no lady bike" so I cut of the top bar and moved it up Gave it some new paint, bar tape and cables, then decided i was too lazy to hook up cables to the gears so converted it into a simple single speed
  13. As some of you may know Ive sold my Corolla, and have since worked out where my priorities lie. Mortgage+apprenticeship+12 month OE in 2017= not spend all my cash on another car. Luckily 2 wheeled projects are an inexpensive hobby, and well, the more the merrier! At the moment im tinkering with: 1975 Yamaha V50 QCR Death Machine 1998 Yamaha PW80 3x Suzuki FR50s 1957? BSA ladies push bike for the GF 2x Raleigh ladies bikes (60s/70s ish) Raleigh mans road bike (70s ish) Healing Skylark ladies 10 speed more to come soon
  14. i am so fucking done!! youve just beat the project car high score! Well done!
  15. the glad wrap will probably get eaten
  16. old gm stuff does the same things with the brake masters. The first time it happened to me i was pumping the pedal to bleed the system and didnt have the cap on, though it was fucked but turns out theyre ment to. Is it possible yours is the same? does the cap have/used to have a rubber seal on it to stop it leaking? or just a regular cap?
  17. most people seem to alter the hole in the pedal where the pushrod slots into in relation to the pivot point of the pedal to allow more leverage. that being said ive never been down that path so have zero real life experience
  18. sweet man yer. meet you at the shell/bk? ill be in a red chev pickup
  19. I'm gonna swing by tomorrow to say hello to everyone. Where will you all be?
  20. pretty easy to cert, just have to have the arms crack tested and some paperwork on the rosejoints. The fancy teflon lined ones are best. my LCAs ended up about 20mm shorter and tophats right in to keep the wheels inside the guards without ridiculous camber
  21. if you make your lower arms adjustable and have adjustable top hats, you can just pull your track in to help clear guards
  22. For some reason I can picture you cranking that "fancy" song while laying frame in your driveway!
  23. we use max wildermoth down st asaph st. turnaround on work is pretty good
  24. pretty sure he went back to the standard intake manifold as the 4age ITBs werent big enough to keep up with the engine, made more power up top with factory setup. will find out more soon...
