The state of it, I'll be glad when I can stop mowing around these things,- holdens waiting for a driveshaft after my foot slipped on the clutch.., Van's just slowly losing parts

Today put the fuel tank back in, mostly installed the clutch line and mounted it with rubber bits, quite boring work but takes time.

Went out to the donor van to look for some fasteners for my clutch line, discovered it has plenty more to give so I harvested them and installed them on my new van, nice and secure all the way to the slave cylinder

I was planning on getting the intake installed today, but the van had other plans... when I installed my starter I realised I hadn't accounted for the space it took up... space my intake was occupying, well- a relocation of the idle circuit, pressure test, and it's good to go, I hope so anyway!

Another vantatstic day hah, got a lot done.

Had to move this guy a bit as my intake just missed it but when the throttle cable bracket went on it reminded me that space is not my friend here.  No worries though as the radiator hose diddnt like the angle it was on either, so moving the water neck made better space for both.

A bit of height difference here in the vans, as shown by the radiator.20201230_202353.thumb.jpg.96c06428fa3292e3014a3bf64c390684.jpgwhich used to sit in here20201230_204848.thumb.jpg.1bdd5df5586b8110d545c3bcf62e623a.jpg20201230_200330.thumb.jpg.c5fd546a205d5f0b2cf5969295c3c9d7.jpgso made some brackets that had just enough space behind the crossmember and suspension beam, as well as intercooler mounts...

20201230_131317.thumb.jpg.5b74b26e727ff7374896d6d71e575565.jpgbad angle but you get how it sits, its tilted forward at the bottom, maybe good for airflow... I dont know shouldn't matter too much

20210103_193534.thumb.jpg.a122e3d1b472bec3be45a88a0f551072.jpgChanged out the cluster to the one from the old van so I've gained a tach, 100,000 less kms and 20 km/h more top speed ..haha, mucked around with the wiring, I'm not so good at it but I guess simple 80s wirings not too bad... 20210103_193650.thumb.jpg.2936dd96b88b8f6133d8f50f56ecbdc5.jpglooks better 20210103_193603.thumb.jpg.c181ca9c5c13fce34942e70b60ededc1.jpgnice labelling still managed to get a wire  wrong though :/ 20210103_193701.thumb.jpg.f5a39b630fcbfdcac4f9d2075a33d797.jpgblew up my alternator somewhere along the way, so I got a spare nissan skyline one and swapped the center out to the silvia housing (housings are different)

Altenator works now, I've now got all the dash functions I need, should get some 100amp fuses for battery though as the loom never had them ?? Would explain the altenator

It's now all done and working except for tach, will now just need oil for diff and gearbox, have put water in but needs a flush as heater core is full of rust, no coolant corroded everything, just a couple of things and it will drive!

No where near final but my goal was to have it driving by end of holidays so it's close, of course I diddnt compromise on the quality unless I know I have to buy parts to do it, generally it's just small things that will improve, those will come later

One more improvement, van had one cracked plastic monsoon shield, my 'luxury' sgl datsun van had stainless shields, so polished them with some autosol and installed. I like the look.

it'll tie in with the rear trim and door slides which are all stainless/chrome plastic .
