Use the standard turbo and run an extra 10psi into it with a gt2860 or similar. I was going to do that with my 300tdi but ive gone with an Isuzu 4bd1t and msa gearbox. It's super easy to do and you don't have to make much, will give a far wider powerband than a vnt or single turbo, trick will be to stop the r380 exploding mmmm i might have to look into this, having to rebuilt my r380 box, done some research dosent seem many people have compound boosted these, seems max boost is about 20 psi, might have a research into this
M.H.
Ashcroft transmissions do a heavy duty bearing upgrade for the r380, also fit an oil cooler to it, easy enough to do as the fittings are there it just doesn't go anywhere. 20psi is max what you would run on the standard turbo by itself
footey
Just ordered a boost pin and ring, hopefully give it a bit more poke, looking at a twin port inlet manifold idea, still cant find much in compound turbos and 300 tdis
M.H.
I don't think the intake manifold will pose much of a restriction. Won't find much info on compounds because people seem to like vnt turbos but they are no good without and ecu control, all modern diesels are compounded now
UTERUS
Fun story time. I had one that I messed around with for more power, to get the power I wanted it cost the same as a v8 to run (including ruc) so I just got a v8. 1
