Turned out one of them was actually fucked, slogged out on the carb itself around the butterfly shaft or something, ole Jim got setup there I think. He gave me his 40s that are now on the rallycar so in turn for that I'm now trying to find a good one to make yours a pair again, hard thing is finding a single Carb not a pair, and all the singles I have found are shitty late model economy ones.
