fourfingapete
I just did my Vauxhall. Hardest part was making up the brackets and lining up the pulleys. I used a bosch out of a polo. Basically only 3 wires out (2 power and 1 for alt light) I used this tut for guidance.http://www.mgccars.com/gen-to-alt-conversion.html

Ghostchips
Lucas alternator, old school kind. On big wire to battery, the other little wire to the dash light which goes to the switch & from the switch the fuse box if i remember correctly. Beaver
//oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/27727-escort-dynamo-alternator-conversion/ have a look through this, it sme helping a guy out doing the same thing, and there is a link to the article I used near the bottom (think tis the same as the one someone posted earlier). I did it in a mk2 cortina as well and was super simple. best of luck!
