Todd's Toyota 85 AW11 Resurrection - Discussion

Recommended Posts

I have had soooo much fun in this car over the years. All of my driving skills were formed in that cockpit and I learnt a lot from it.

It's great to see it's gone to a good home - make sure you enjoy it and give it the thrashings it deserves!

IMO it should stay two tone... but that's up to you :P

Here are a few pics from my time with it:

Good to see it being driven by someone who actually knows how to drive :P

I still haven't really decided on a color yet, at least i've got a long time to think about it, i've been considering millenium jade from r34 gtr's:

or panda style:

Markku will be able to tell you about driveshafts, I think the sw20 ones were the go?

Mounts are a bit different on the cambelt side between the 4a and 3s, and not sure if the engine bay needs any massaging or not.

There's a redtop beams motor on trademe at the moment, and a greytop one out of a caldina. I think the redtop has a butchered loom and no ecu though.

I have an s54 gearbox from an sw20 so has the linkage son the correct side...Markku was toying with the idea of getting his AW back off Rhys and putting the 3s in, but I guess he is getting old and sensible ;)

You can bolt some of the C52 gearbox mounts to the S54 box and the cam cover mount needs a little bit of custom work, but they're easy enough. The axles should slot into AW11 hubs too (I had a set that did anyway).

Sherwood toning is the color scheme though ;)
