Popular Post Rookie
So I have been plugging away at this. Tank is all mounted and finished. No wonder they want ~$800 for these things as they take fucken ages to make. Also some how I managed to measure correctly and everything fits?!?! I must be getting better at this hahaha.

Popular Post Rookie
So I seem to get the firing order wrong every time I work on these motors, but I got it sorted in the end. First attempt. FYI the dizzy spins anticlockwise and the firing order is 1-2-4-3. Then it actually went and the oil did what it was supposed to!?!?

Rookie
So I added more bits to the shazzy so that I could mount the hoop legit like. Like so... Then I got my tig on and rainbows ERRWHERE! And then I got the back stays done. So now I need apply for a log book and homologation. Let's see if I can get this to dual sprints?!?!

Rookie
So I did a shitty job of painting the roll bar, I will probably re do it at some point. And my shiz showed up this morning so it looks like racing this weekend is on. This is what the engine bay looks like now. I think I will chuck my locked diff in for the weekend too.

Rookie
Race Report: I woke up and it was super overcast, as I was getting my shit ready it started raining. I towed the car to the track anyway, went through scruiteneering no problems, everything was good and my log book got it’s “Audited OK“ stamp. Then the dude told me it would be a wet event so I would need wets. Fuck, so I took my wheels off and took them to Carters where they changed the slicks to my old tyres for the price of 2 mystery sticks and 2 pies. Got back to the track and the track was bone dry and blue sky, PPPIIIISSSSSSS. I put the wheels back on, but thought I would be a smart cunt and put the 2 semi slicks on the front and the 2 road tyres on the back. What a bad idea. Instant spin machine with the locker haha, anyway I got a lap and a half in, spun twice, and then the car dies as it got an air lock in the fuel system. Towed back to the pits. I changed the tyres to how they should be, and removed the fuel filter, and the car was away again. The car was running like a sack, I think it was running out of fuel, but I dunno. Anyway I ended up running 1:34’s which is the same time as Sparky’s race wagon, I have run 1:27’s with the same setup before so it is certainly not great. Caleb took a couple of photos as well.

Rookie
Since then I am preping the car for a track day on monday and also the Fraser trackday. So I decided to make a carbon scoop for the ugly hole in the bonnet and it came out surprisingly well.Laying it up:Just out of the mouldAfter sanding and with the first coat of clear on itAll doneI also I fitted up the Alloy hubs I bought some time ago. And I put on the badge that Dodgy Sam gave me. If it is lucky it might even get a wash before the trackday...
