kseries.rookie
Hey guys, I've just got off the phone from my powder coaters who is coating my drive shaft. He said that it's got some rubber O-Rings on it and he'll need to whip them off otherwise they'll melt in the oven. Are these replaceable/does anyone know the cost to replace these?? Sorry for the vauge description, I didn't even see them myself so can't think of the ones he's talking about. Cheers! Edit: It's for a ke70. I've asked him if he could send me a picture of said O-Rings. Not sure how he'll take.
Llama
Generic rubber O-rings can be had for less than a buck (dependant on size) at any engineering supply place. Not sure how fancy the ke70 ones are, but even if they are weird, you can always make new ones out of a length of rubber and some superglue/vulcaniser. KKtrips
I would just get the driveshaft painted - would save you untold hassle and can be repainted in less than a couple of hours including removal and fitting.
Seedy Al
I cant think of any sort of O rings on a ke70 drive shaft, unless the drive shaft has rubber isolcater type deal going on. Which usually has one shaft going into a bigger shaft.

KKtrips
That is the rubber seal from the u-joints. You get new ones when you replace the u-joints. The job of replacing the u-joints would most probably damage the powdercoating which would kind of be counter-productive to the whole point. Painting is good.. Seedy Al
yeah totally I would think having the poweder coat on slash in the universals would be the worst thing ever.
