flyingbrick
Was expecting to lose some bottom end... but I got absolutely nothing up top. Reckon its just the factoryish exhaust limiting peak flow and strangling the top end? it looks like a fairly sweet bit of pipework and bending (and pretty new) except its wisper quiet so the muffler must be a heap of crap. Anyone ever seen an M90 on one of these with suckthrough carb?
shizzl
those gucci ones you see on xr6s are probably the only ones worth getting.. that one doesnt look any better than the factory option tbh. allthough you can open it from the base of the collector and goes for a 2.5" all the way through.. flyingbrick
it's actually quite a nice manifold( in my opinion anyway ) definitely not home made. but hard to tell with all the saggy heat wrap. got any pics of the xr6 ones? flyingbrick
grouping of tubes is wrong.. just realized
shizzl
yeah, but what im saying is theyv got to all that trouble to pull the gasses away from the head and they just cram up at the collector on those... the cast xr6 manifolds flow bloody good for stock manifolds aswell... advanced ford wreckers in akl have motors listed on trademe all the time, check out their pics cos most have the extractors fitted in the pic

flyingbrick
150 bucks for an xr6 tickford eb diff on tm- could be a good cheap upgrade! they got an LSD? from my understanding they have a ratio that should wake it up a fair but too- opinions? shizzl
yeah the 6-3-1 headers are sweet, most ive seen are stainless too.. im sure the xr's had lsd....if you want longer legs get a stockcar cam from kiwi cams, they do grinds for about $150ish we had a gli ef sedan..that thing hauled arse for a poverty spec coon...drove my old bosses ef xr6 coon, and noticed no difference in power at all, maybe just a little, the only thing i noticed was the handling was way better.. kpr
need to be alot longer if you want to have them tuned to useable rpm. you may get ok results if you were to cut them off just before they join into one. and make a decent length 2-1 section. hard to say without knowing the primary size. but 2-1 section will need to be at least 2" pipes. need a decent flowing exhaust for them to work properly also
flyingbrick
thanks. seems to be going much better today after I plugged the o2 sensor in. also did electronic shift kit today- works well! exhaust is next up
