Sambo
The 1S-U in my SA60 is getting sicker and sicker, runs very low oil pressure etc etc. I have a spare 1S that I was thinking of freshening up but then I started whether I should throw a 2S engine in instead (2000cc vs current 1800). I've been on wikipedia, which tells me that my 1S makes (made) 74kw and 152 N·m of torques. An Aussie 2S-C makes 73kw and 157 N·m. Does anyone know these engines well enough to tell me why 200cc more makes less power and only slightly more torque? Bore is increased by 3.5mm and stroke remains the same at 90mm. I also know that 2S-C has awful stuff like an airpump to put more fresh air into the exhaust to reduce emission readings. Could I use a 1S head and 2S block?
xsspeed
prolly cant use 1s head with 2s bottom end sue to piston size vs combustion chamber. Air pump is probably robbing a few hp's and if its got emissions shit it will be holding the engine back most likely (not that it would be a powerhouse)
Spencer
1S's actually go OK, just find a fresher one and bang it in. I wouldnt waste much money on pulling them appart
