mad_max
I know this is probably simple but I haven't had this problems with any cars before. My ca18det is miss firing under acceleration. If I get off the gas a tiny bit and ease it on its fine but if I keep hard in it it'll sit at like 4-5k rpm and not increase. The boost doesn't change, stays at full boost, just isn't acceleration. What would the most likely thing be? I would guess coils or something similar but not going out buying things for the hell of it cause I'm poor as.lol Cheers
shrike
Coils standard nissan issue try coating them with insulation tape etc and regapping plugs to 0.8mm
Hemi
have you changed anything recently? dirty air flow meters can cause all sorts of weird gremlins too , they get crap on the element , real easy to clean
Hemi
also its not unheard of for the drive in the cam / cam sensor to wear out and allow movement and change timing .
mad_max
Sweet, ive got a mate with a ca18det track car thats not being used so i can use parts of that to try, ill try air flow meter and regap plugs 1st. im thinking air flow meter though because i have had it off recently. mad_max
I have tried a mates coils, spark plugs, air flow meter. Trying igniter pack today and I'll try find out how to do diagnostics test. Any other ides if these dont work?
mad_max
I have tried, afm, coils and leads, new iridium plugs. Done a diagnostics test and came up with 31 which is ECM. What would it likely to be? A sensor or something?
Hemi
*edit* got confused.
QCADTA
31 is a ecu fault, or signal out of range/ voltage issue. check ya earthing connections and power to ya ecu. or try another ecu.
mad_max
Yay, just realised its 13 not 31! faark im an idiot, misread it. its collant temperature sensor, Should be simple then. it all makes sense now, temp gauge is not working. this obviously has something to do with ecu and how it runs (hopefully). these things are so much more complicated than a good old carby, dam computers! Will update if i fix it
Llama
Yay, just realised its 13 not 31! faark im an idiot, misread it. its collant temperature sensor, Should be simple then. it all makes sense now, temp gauge is not working. this obviously has something to do with ecu and how it runs (hopefully). these things are so much more complicated than a good old carby, dam computers! Without a temp sensor it's likely the ECU is not leaving warmup mode (enriches the mixture during a cold start). Once it's warmed up however the mixture is too rich so it's not firing. Either that or some ECUs have a time out that if it doesn't warm up after a certain amount of time it either goes into normal operation or "limp home" mode. /irrelevant
Hemi
yeah after 2 mins of running it assumes the temp is 80 deg. make it run rich as fuck and blow black smoke etc, had the same problem with my ca
