Yay, just realised its 13 not 31! faark im an idiot, misread it. its collant temperature sensor, Should be simple then. it all makes sense now, temp gauge is not working. this obviously has something to do with ecu and how it runs (hopefully). these things are so much more complicated than a good old carby, dam computers! Will update if i fix it
  2. I have tried, afm, coils and leads, new iridium plugs. Done a diagnostics test and came up with 31 which is ECM. What would it likely to be? A sensor or something?
  3. I have tried a mates coils, spark plugs, air flow meter. Trying igniter pack today and I'll try find out how to do diagnostics test. Any other ides if these dont work?
  4. Sweet, ive got a mate with a ca18det track car thats not being used so i can use parts of that to try, ill try air flow meter and regap plugs 1st. im thinking air flow meter though because i have had it off recently.
  5. I know this is probably simple but I haven't had this problems with any cars before. My ca18det is miss firing under acceleration. If I get off the gas a tiny bit and ease it on its fine but if I keep hard in it it'll sit at like 4-5k rpm and not increase. The boost doesn't change, stays at full boost, just isn't acceleration. What would the most likely thing be? I would guess coils or something similar but not going out buying things for the hell of it cause I'm poor as.lol Cheers
  6. Im having some problems with my ca18det, sometimes it will stall easily coming up to an intersection if I don't have my foot on the gas, then it will not start. And sometimes if I start it and think its started so let go of key and if it doesn't start intl kinda misfire and stall and not start. I heard a while ago of someone taking the fuel pump fuse out, starting it up and putting it back in again. This works so Ive hooked it up to a switch so is much easier to do. Although its problem solved its not ideal and want to know why it's doing it. Talked to a few mechanics and they couldn't tell me and n ever heard of taking the fuse out to start. Any information would be mint Cheers
  7. The tube won't come out because of the shape of it. I've looked online and most people bend the shit out of them and normally end up breaking. The sump also doesn't look like it'll come off in a hurry. Heaps of things in the way. Man these ca18dets are cunts to work on!
  8. I have just bought a 180sx with a ca18det. I went to check the oil and the end of dipstick is now there. Put my mates dipstick in there and it didn't go in properly so the end is stuck in the tube, I have also learnt the tubes do not come out without dismantling the whole engine. Is there a way I can check oil without it until I fix it. I don't even trust driving it ATM. As it has an oil leak which I also have to fix Not after any comments telling me to fix it because I am! Just want to now if it's possible so I can drive it to a mates hoist to fix it up

Put my mates dipstick in there and it didn't go in properly so the end is stuck in the tube, I have also learnt the tubes do not come out without dismantling the whole engine.   12. I will get some thick as hell oil tomorrow I couldnt care less about what other people think or have to smell , i just want a woffed daily and spend my money on my projects.

  14. Just failed a wof in my daily for it blowing smoke. Its a real heap of shit and not worth spending much on. Its just to get me round and is other than that quite reliable. Havent done compression test but am today, Im assuming its rings. Blowing blue smoke Couldnt care less about smoke, just want to pass wof for another 6months so any tricks or any way of fixing temporarily? CHeers
  15. What can you use for a speedo for wof? Can you use a gps? An apexi rev/speed speed meter (or similar) Just curious what is required if speedo was not easily going to be hooked up

  17. Yea im doing it like that, Just tried before and no cigar. I think its the light not giving the relay enough power to activate it. Its a cheap shit tacho with a shift light which is pathetic. Back to the drawing board. Gotta amp up the light current somehow
  18. Haha, I was by computer and tacho was at my mates place. Just saw it online and thought id give it a crack. Its simple as hell. Testing on a mates fucked demo derby car with no exhaust so ill take a video of it. Ill put up a thread how to make it if it works

Im making a homemade rev limiter (like bee*r limiter hopfully) Ive sorted everything and just went to test it to find out i dont even know how to wire up a tacho Ive got green, black, white and red. My thoughts were black - ground, red - battery, white - light (tested that), and green - coil. But i dont have a clue.haha Any help appreciated.
  21. Sweet man, Think ive got it sorted. Im testing it on my mates fucked demo derby car which miraculously goes so doesnt matter if anything fucked out. And the rest was free so be a good test. Ill keep you posted. probably test tomorow (wired most of it up)

Im making a homemade rev limiter like this: http://206-225-94-86.dedicated.abac.net ... php?t=8239 I have a relay which i think will use as it has the right pins, Im just not sure if the pins are the same as every relay Top of it says 12v 20/30a (not really necessary) Just want to make sure itl work before i go blowing things.lol
  24. Been looking at a ke36 rolling shell, been setup for a 12a but not certed so want to go back to a k. What xmembers are the same? I assume ke30, ke35 and ke36. Anything else the same? Anyone got one or know where I could get one? Pretty keen to get it, just want to sort out first Cheers
