shizzl Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 does anyone know FOR SURE that a sport gauge cluster with the rev counter will plug into a non rev counter loom? my cortina doesnt have a rev counter which sux, but im picking up another dash unit tomorrow. is there anything i need to do to be able to run it? any extra wiring needed etc? cheers Quote
- i5oogt - Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 the pin outs are different so you need to change them around abit and run an extra wire to the coil. I wrote down the plug wire changes when i did my old one, I will see if i can find it. cheers Quote
shizzl Posted June 17, 2012 Author Posted June 17, 2012 stopping me driving round without a rev counter--------legend!!!! Quote

crustywhip Posted June 18, 2012 Posted June 18, 2012 Take dash out. match the paths the wires take on the back with original and then find the tach wire. Been a while but cant be that tricky. Do it Quote
shizzl Posted June 29, 2012 Author Posted June 29, 2012 does the tacho wire go onto the + or the - on the coil on these? Quote
shizzl Posted July 1, 2012 Author Posted July 1, 2012 this dash has given me a headache... where do the tacho wires go?? theres a red, blue and yellow wire connected to the tacho.... Quote
QCADTA Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 open it and have a look, may be red=12v, blue=coil -ve, and yellow=cluster lamp Quote
shizzl Posted July 1, 2012 Author Posted July 1, 2012 im no wiring magician.....not sure what im looking at with the tacho.. Quote
shizzl Posted July 1, 2012 Author Posted July 1, 2012 only need to work out the wiring for the tacho, cos ill keep the non tacho cluster but just put the tacho into that one,so im keeping the clock in the dash. will fit a new fuel gauge and sender along with a water temp and oil pressure gauge.. if i end up doing alot of track/rally work ill put a alloy tank in the boot...
