Vibration under acceleration

Hi guys

wondering what could be causeing a vibration in the mid rpm range and only under acceleration.

Car - TA63 Carina ( IRS and was perfect when not lowered)

Things done - Full nolathane bushings on rear , chopped spring and damper adjustable koni shocks , a bit too low but the shocks came of a ST141 wagaon so will have to make do. The CV do not look that much in an angle.

Have not had it up in the hoist yet but maybe someone can shed some light on what i need to be looking for.

did this happen immediately after the installation of the nolathane bushings? were the sub-frame to body mount bushes replaced also?

Yes as i lowered and changed bushes at the same time and yes subframe bushes have been replaced also. Have to say it was defficult to put in after the bushes was done.

have you had the drive shaft out?

changed ya wheels?

what sort of angle are the axles on

Nope vibration started before touching the driveshaft. Yeap changed wheels from 14 x 7 to 15 x 8 (would unbalaned wheels cause this or would it be constant wih speed?). Do no Angle but it does not seem extreme.

unless it's a really harsh vibration I would say the main source of the vibration are the firmer nolathane bushes. A diff will always to some degree have a vibration when accelerating or deaccelerating the the factory soft rubber bushes isolate this vibration from the rest of the chassis - putting nolathane bushes into the mounts has effectively made it solid and you are transferring all the vibration through to the body and chassis.

if it's a really harsh vibration at all times or mostly under acceleration then it could perhaps be the CV joints seeing as the car was lowered at the same time as the bushes put in - if lowering was done at a different time to bushes being put in then you could eliminate one potential source. Do you have some factory springs/shocks you could put back in to raise back up to normal height?

When i changed my rubber engine mounts in my 2lt escort to nolathane ones, i was amased at how much vibration there was. Your just feeling what you couldn't feel before, dont worry about it. Different engines vibrate different amounts and at different rpm's etc

Do you have some factory springs/shocks you could put back in to raise back up to normal height?

Sold them last week :( i think it is the nolathane bushes but after all the balancing and alignment is done i will see if it improves. Its not major just kinda there.

is driveshaft 2 piece?

in my wagz when it was lowerd just off the bumps it fucked the driveshaft hanger bearing cause it was too low and hanger was as old as the dinosaurs. it caused cronic vibration under acceleration. i replaced driveshaft with mint one and was sweet. idealy i need a 1 piece drivshaft as the hanger in it will most probly get fucked soon as i want to go lower.
