  1. Hey Alex happy to see it go to a good home. Let me know if you need anything , more then happy to help.
  2. Here is what the car looks like now. Had the 15" x 8" Sportmaxx 002 on it before but running 17" x 8" now. The rear bumper has paint chipping off and a small rust spot near the fuel cap but the rest of the car if in mint condition. Painted with 2K brilliant white about 3 years ago. Running a stock 3TGTE motor , Cusco Adjustable's in the front with Blistien Inserts and Koni Damber adjustable rears with custom Snells springs. Four wheel disc brakes , rotors machined about 3 months ago. 15mm wheel adaptors. Shaved Door Ridge. Cert for everything.
  3. Hey guys. Dug the internet some more and found an answer and a very interesting book. http://books.google.co.nz/books?id=fVm0HYHJr4gC&pg=PA84&lpg=PA84&dq=toyota+IDL+Tl&source=bl&ots=li_0UmNR8R&sig=9vKUjnZUyN0Z5MbxCjhNSatJPao&hl=en&sa=X&ei=jlKCULbxC-2QiQfTmIAg&ved=0CCYQ6AEwAQ#v=onepage&q=toyota%20IDL%20Tl&f=false
  4. Hi Guys. Just wondering if anyone knows what figures the volt and ohm test should be showing in the Throttle Positioning Sensor? Car is running perfect but couple of days ago the TPS had a loud winding noise. It was going up down with the rpm so i thought it was the alternator belt but after popping the hood the noise was coming from the TPS. Turned it off and started it up after a couple of hours and the noise is gone.

    Lvvta Fail , HELP

Thank SleekToy , was not planning on a cheap fix. Just wanted to know what other Carina owners had and you have answered the question very well Might head to AutoBelts and see what Francis can do for me.
  6. Hi Guys Calling all TA63/AA63 Carina Owners This was my first cert and an ok experience. Failed on a few things , most i can fix myself but need help with this one: Rear upper seat belt Anchorage , Fit new seat belt Anchorage with complying anchorage plates. They think that i only had lap seat belts and that it was changed to lap sash seat belts after factory. I have had 3 Carina Ta63 Sedan and all had the lap sash seat belts. Can someone explain please Or if anyone has a TA63/AA63 Sedan Carina can they please take a photo under the rear parcel tray and see what the seat belt mount look like. Everything else i have under control Car is a 1982 Carina Ta63 4 door Sedan
  7. When you installed the new Coil was all the wires hooked back on? Find the signal wire from the AutoMeter tacho and run it straight to the Negative and see if it works ,( Assuming the positive wire etc is all hooked up right on the Tacho)
  8. I have purchased a set of rear 30mm lowering king springs for my TA63 Carina. Only springs available. My question is that i am using a shortend KONI damper adjustable shock. Free height of the spring - 320mm Solid height is - 120 The installed height of the spring is 160mm with the shock fully open. With my bump stop at 130mm. I have to jack the arm up to the point where i am lifting the car for me to slide my shocks in. Quesion is , do you know of a shorter spring from another car that will be better or is what i am doing fine? I am just worried that this will make the car ride like its sitting on bump stops 24/7. Any help will be highly appreciated.
  9. Sold them last week i think it is the nolathane bushes but after all the balancing and alignment is done i will see if it improves. Its not major just kinda there.
  10. Yes as i lowered and changed bushes at the same time and yes subframe bushes have been replaced also. Have to say it was defficult to put in after the bushes was done. Nope vibration started before touching the driveshaft. Yeap changed wheels from 14 x 7 to 15 x 8 (would unbalaned wheels cause this or would it be constant wih speed?). Do no Angle but it does not seem extreme.
  11. Hi guys wondering what could be causeing a vibration in the mid rpm range and only under acceleration. Car - TA63 Carina ( IRS and was perfect when not lowered) Things done - Full nolathane bushings on rear , chopped spring and damper adjustable koni shocks , a bit too low but the shocks came of a ST141 wagaon so will have to make do. The CV do not look that much in an angle. Have not had it up in the hoist yet but maybe someone can shed some light on what i need to be looking for.
  12. i have a complete 3T-EU engine(alternator , power steering , air-con ) less manifolds if you are interested. Came out of a working TA-63 Carina. 157-160psi on all four cylinders. $200 and its yours Also have s-series mounts and cross memebr that came out of a SA60 if you are interested. PM me.

    3TGTE Wiring

Found the Man for the Job Thanks Nic. Look forward to working with ya.
  15. Hey guys. Thanks for the comments. Going for the Chip Foose look Thats the reason not only are the mouldings gone but the little indent that used to be there is gone too. The wheels i have on now have a Charcoal Center, the bumper top part is black ,the door handle part that you press is still the original charcoal colour and the side mirror mounting is black but i do understand what you mean by all the white I will post pics once the car is on the ground and the wheels are back on. I have decided to stay away from the Beams motor for now as i want to be running Power Steering and Air-Con so decided to stay with a 3TGTE for Ease of things.
