Raizer
Escort 4 speed or Cortina 4 speed? If its the 2L Cortina box that is found behind Pintos its the same as running a 5 speed, except the mount is further forward and the speedo cable is shorter. If you want to run the Escort box from memory there is a difference in the flywheel offset between Kents and Pintos so you can just put the Escort flywheel on the Pinto engine (think the starter doesn't line up or the flywheel fouls on the Pinto block or something). You should be able to get the Pinto flywheel machined and redrilled to suit the Kent clutch for around $80-100 but with the fucking around involved you might as well spend that on a driveshaft and run the Pinto 4 speed. Horse25
you can still use the center console, i have a T9 in my sport, the center console has been moved to suit but has mounting brackets made up, i can take some photos if you like?

1967anglia
all you need to do is put the kent flywheel/clutch on the pinto and you away. I did the same in my mk2 cortina and a mk1 escort, but the gearboxs didnt last long.
MissEsky
Use a 5 speed sierra gbox with a mk 1 capri cross member. Get the speedo cable lengthened and u needa widen the gearstick hole. This is for the mk2 four door esky with the auto tunnel. Fits in sweet

Raizer
did you do this? no, found them on google, those 2 are done to suit a MG and a kit car I think. I cut one down years ago when I had my Escort but never got around to having it welded up/got rid of the Esky.
77escort
hmmm i would like to go with a 5 speed but not sure ill see what i can find to do it down here mine was a manual 1300 L so will have to do a bit of bashing with a hammer does the mk1 capri cross member line up with the mounting holes already or will i have to drill new ones
MissEsky
Does in the auto tunnel, havnt had a chance to measure out a manual one to see if it fits. You might also have to massage the firewall .
Horse25
you dont have to touch the firewall/ tunnel. mine is a 1600 sport with a 2.0 fits in tight but no bashing required, just means you have to take the whole engine out if you want to change the box/clutch but its only a days work anyway... photos are still coming...
