wickmyster
Is putting a 2L pinto cam into 1600 OHC a good upgrade?
jakesae101
no but putting a 1600 head on a 2L bottom end is from what ive been told
wickmyster
Yeah, brings up compression, but you need to port it out to get it flowing like a 2L again.
bubblegoose
put a 2l cam in the 1600 and you pretty much just made the 1600gt engine edit, but not the p100 cam

rikit123
do i need to change valve springs or anything if i do this? any chance of it messing up the valves by hitting the pistons?
Gaz
Ummm, think the 1600 has shorter valves? Gaz
rawismore
You should be fine. It's worth noting that if you want this motor to last, particularly the followers, look at getting a new set to go with the cam in the motor. Cams and followers go hand in hand, old followers on a new cam and vice versa aren't mated to each other correctly and will fail before too long. wickmyster
Cheers, I used a mint set of 2nd hand followers and the cam itself was mint but well used. So hopefully they have all weathered well It is now the ex-girlfriends car and if it doesn't last I'll be happy, she might sell it back to me... fingers crossed!!! I miss that eski
