fulloc
Can anyone give me a definitive answer on whether a steel case W50 is compatible with a 1g bellhousing? Google just confuses me more, half yes/no.
fulloc
the pattern on the front of the gearbox is the same for W55/56/57/58/59 and the G series alloy Hilux and Hiace boxes (G52, G55 I think), a sort of tilited over oval shape. This image has been resized. Click this bar to view the full image. The original image is sized 896x600 and weights 93KB. The older steel case boxes (W40, W50) have an almost square bolt pattern with only 4 bolts. You can sort of see it here. This image has been resized. Click this bar to view the full image. The original image is sized 924x645 and weights 142KB. Your issue is getting the bellhousing to fit a T or G series engine, the other end should be relatively easy to source. Depending how carried away you want to get though you can grab any T series bellhousing and weld it to the bellhousing from whatever gearbox you get, just need to be very accurate. . So Nah? smokin' joe
T and G are interchangeable and i used the G bell to mate the 4wd liteace box (W55 bolt pattern) to a spare 3T for the beach buggy. so in reverse, a 3T bell can be used to mate a G motor to a W50 box . likewise the S and C bells are supposed to interchange
