karmagedon
Hey there chaps, I stumbled upon some interesting pages on getting heat out of your engine bay with vents etc. if anyone is interested in reading here are the links introduction under trays bonnet vents
jakesae101
hmm an interesting read on my car i run no under body plastics because some of them were a bit munted. It would be interesting to see what the effect on my car is after i spaced the rear of the bonnet to try reduce the effects of heat soak on the top mount intercooler. Or weather it is negated by the fact that it also has a factory scoop or possibly weather it helps air flow over the top mount more efficiently. karmagedon
Spacing the back of the bonnet is not always such a great idea, despite seeming like it makes sense. it is where the highest + pressure is on the bonnet, meaning that air is more likely to get sucked back into the bonnet than to be pushed out of it. jakesae101
hmm wouldn't be that hard to do since the gap at the back in comparison to the sides is still rather small since the factory rubber is still there
bubblegoose
can be done with some universal door rubber seal stuff
zep
Hrm, might make up a new underbay shield thing after reading that. Could be a good move as it was one of the first things I ripped out of my car.
Simon
Good read. I'm going to put all the factory plastics on my AW11. Have always meant to but never got round to it. Also I may need to lift the rear of the bonnet up with the corona to squeeze the motor in. Don't want to though.
