Yeah the plans to do it cheap but.. already spent about 1g on the engine set up. oh well. would sound like nothing to you guys i suppose.

My dads been a HUGE help as he knows his shit and gets repco discounts through work  and is good at finding cheapys.so yeah. plans to make the outside nice and get 1600 in. then i can save up for a nice interior( least important part i reckon) also whats a cheap way to improve on suspension/breaks mines not bad but might as well look into just in case.

Edit:QCADTA and LOW'N'SLOW im loving your guys builds btw

Lower profile tyres would be the first thing i would recommend looking at, whats on there now as they must have some mega sidewall flex.

Put some 2" lowering blocks in the bum and after market springs in the front.

Make sure you setup your wheels and tyres before you paint it just encase you need to tickle up the lips for clearance.

What condition are your bushes in?, Check your sway bar end bolts are nice n tight etc.

Replacing the shocks can make good improvements also. I want from standard shocks to Koni's on my daily 4 door and the difference was huge! Allot funner to take around corners when the car is settled and not rolling around like a whale.

How wide are those mags your putting the 205/50r13s on?

Have a go at this to see what the new vs old profile will look like relative to the width and offset of rim atc

(you may want to try find some wider mags i suspect as you may still have bubble looking tyres however im no expert and always select the wrong tyres 1st shot)

PS you should keep the original seats / interior ... i regret having to replace mine with bucket seats when the back of one of mine broke. Just slap a bumper on the front and paint it that choice green you have shown, with your 1600 you will have a grouse little escort!

... the front seats are HORRIBLE. way too high and i reckon uncomfortable. might get those black vinyl recaro replica seats i like the look of those and they not bad because dad had a set and they were comfy. then will just retrim it all in black. but that will be in good time. or ill just get fishnets and retrim it to match them. leaning towards option A though

forgot to mention it has a full front bumper now but i dont like it still trying to find some proper steel 1/4s :doubt:

Oh sweet so they should be ok to dummy up with presuming the offset is the same

Sweet just be aware you may need to modify your guards lips a little with them .... cant remember if you can get away with just rolling the lip or more is required. But you can see on my 4 door mk1 the extent i went to to get clearance with the same mags. Or get them in as blanks and have some meet shaven of the back by performance mags before getting the holes drilled. You may have inner guard issues on the front then however.

edit i see you are

Yeah ill see how it all works out but it wont be for a while so hottys will do for the time being. mostly exited about the new motor though.

Also i have no idea about how to measure offset.

Whats the offset of your 13x7 minilites? ill compare to my mags later on

Keep an eye out for there for break upgrade

http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motor ... 994184.htm

4 pot calipers that bolt directly on. However they are allot heavier than standard ones which should work fine.

Unless you have the original Mk1 small escort disks or worse drums in which case keep an eye out for mk2 escort calipers and disks as they are bigger. Cant remember if they bolt onto mk1 struts if not grab the strut TCA's and steering rack from a mk2. The bigger diameter the disk the better they will work as they have more leverage etc.

Well the escort i have is made of up of three and the brakes i have are actually quite big. I think they were off my sedan but i cant remember? do those brakes bolt on with no mods? no need for cert or any brakebooster upgrade(Mines also a resonable size come to think of it) alot of parts are from a 75 mk1 and they supposibly have alot of running gear from/similar to a mk2.

Also why is a mk2 steering rack used alot? Faster steerting or easier. my guess is its 3 stem so they work together for a quicker ratio? lol but i dunno. im blabbering again :doubt::doubt::doubt:
