osbornr
I have a 67 Anglia and wish to make mods to the front suspension and fit disc brakes. I have heard that I could fit a mk2 escort cross member and all other suspension bits. Is this possible.
steven81
theres a anglia site called 105 speed might be use full
Unclejake
Most guys use 315 Consul front struts. I think they are a direct replacement for your drum struts - but are getting hard to find. The other option is Mk2 Cortina struts and lower control arms but this will give you some negative camber you may not want
toyotaloyal
MK2 cortina complete strut/hub/brake and lower control arm assemblies are the easiest to fit. All you need to do is cut and redrill the top hats to suit the anglia bolt spacing in the strut tower. the sway bar fits right in the cortina lower control arm- youll notice a small increase in track(wider stance) as the control arm is longer from the sway bar mounting point to the ball joint. The consul 315 setup works- but the lower control arms are even longer than the mk2 cortina items. Usually when ive seen them used redrilling of the crossmember has been doen to bring the track back to a reasonable stance.

felixx
how did you go? I am saving the pennies to get a kit from milton race prep in the UK Mk2 cortina conversion. I think escort stuff means you have to move the motor back 2 inches or something. Just putting cortina or 315 struts changes some steering geometry so new TCAs etc are in order too.. It is annoying that 105es are so finnicky in this regard
Unclejake
Felixx, try to hook up with in Doug Moody from Rangiora. He may have some 315 struts and that is the easiest thing to do. I have his email address if you need it
