osbornr
I am a new member and are just starting on my project 67 Anglia and require some help. I plan to fit a cortina 1500 engine if I can find one with a 1600 cortina gearbox. I would also like to change the front struts to get disc brakes. Can any one help me by supplying information with what struts to use and what other parts I may need to change. Also any problems I may have with the engine transplant. I have extractors and an aftermarket manifold with a double barrell carb to fit.

- i5oogt -
hi, welcome to oldschool you can use either mk2 cortina or consul 315 front struts, i believe you need to use a different TCA for a few components to line up, i can confirm this with a mate who has done the conversion on his anglia, where abouts in NZ are you? i also have a few mk2 cortina struts/calipers etc if you need a set cheers Karl
Mk1Mad
Welcome Check out 105speed.com for information. There is a link on that site to the Milton catelogue which has an explaination on what struts etc you should use. It seams the biggest problem is the fact Anglias have a steering box as opposed to a rack so they clout all kinds of stuff when you change engines. Also, as said above, start a build thread and let us know what part of the country you are in incase anyone can help you out. Nick
d.p.n.s
i use to have a few anglas when i was younger the easyist way i found to do things was to put escort crossmember in the you can use escort steering, mk2 disc struts (had to change the top hats) and you can then bolt in 1600 x/flows or 2.0. start a project tread mate and welcom to oldschool dan
