Jase
running an electronic speedo, ok the 3.8 has an electronic speedo sender and my ute is cable stz, is there any one that does kits to keep my standy dash like a little motor that runs off the out the sender gives it to wind the speedo around, or any clever as electronics whizzs that could nut it out, main reason being ute = 4.8 diff commy = 3.0 diff, so huge difference its for towskys and skids predominantly so the lo gearing doesn't bother me
nismo.capri
running an electronic speedo,ok the 3.8 has an electronic speedo sender and my ute is cable stz, What gearbox? I'm not sure with GM but the electronic speedo drive should come off g/box and then it's the standard fitting that you might be able to put a cable in to, or you might beable to pull out the whole electronic speedo drive from the gbox and replace it with the cable drive. Here's how to do it with a 700R4 http://www.geocities.com/crosley_az/700spd.htm T5 Manual http://www.chevytalk.org/fusionbb/showt ... /last/m/1/
Jase
its a dirty 700 i have looked at that but calibration of my speedo is what i was worried about, wouldn't electrically calibrating it be easier than mechanically
nismo.capri
All you need is the speedo drive that matches the diff.... E.Parrot and son will recalibrate your cable speedo. http://www.finda.co.nz/business/listing ... e-son-ltd/ They'd be the first place I'd start with... shizzl
do you know if they modify speedo cables? i need a mazda box speedo drive mated to a ford speedo head.. basically running mazda box in a ford.. sorry for the hijack..
Jase
as above would be your best bet SI styles probably, might help is if you have a maz cable and the original ford one so they can do some mating, don't forget to give thems a length either 4" too short would be pretty gay
sentra
if you get the correct cable for the head your using you can just heat the end up and pull the fitting off and crimp it onto the ford cable couldnt be sure on such early mazda stuff but s1 - s5 is a really common end used in toyotas etc -> 'old house keyhole shape' youve been aroudn mazdas for ages im sure u know this anyway
