Gaz
My mk2 didnt have some of the holes in floor for normal rails. Dunno bout mk1 tho. The ones missing would be the ones closest to the tunnel at the rear.. on both sides.

zep
Do all Mk1 cortinas come with bench seats?
Gaz
Nup. Why dont ya just have alook if the exra hole is there dude. It only takes a few seconds.
zep
Well then try to get some regular seat rails. The racepro adaptors are pretty good/versatile. In my gemini I only had to drill 1 hole in each rail to get my racepros in.
escortwags
i know the whole seat rail hole business just would rather keep it all original without malesting the floor of the poor thing. not all mk1's came out with bench seats all good then just thort atleat one person would have done it on here
zep
That's what I'm saying. Get some seat rails out of a non-bench seated cortina. I assume these will just bolt in where the benchy mounts too. Then connect the racepro adatpers to those new rails.
escortwags
all sorted fullas just for future refernce the seat rails out of a 1988 peugot 5 door wagon basically fit straight in a mk1 using 2 orignal holes each side and not needing changing for the racepro seat rails atall pretty much are made for it
Gaz
Do the pug rails mount up right for all 4 holes in the cortina floor or just two?
escortwags
just two as there was originally only two easch side for the bench seat
Gaz
Oh must be slighlty diff to mine. So you only have the rails bolted to the floor at the front? No bolts holding them down in the back or am I on the complete wrong track?

escortwags
haha your waaaay on the wrong track there a bolts holding the rails down front and back there were only to holes on the drivers side that were original (the bench seat only had two rails in total) so two new holes were drilled (by the tunnel) and everything fits and lines up perfectly nothing dodgey or malested (bar the two new holes) will gets some pics up soon which will explain everything alot more clearly
Gaz
Oh yup I got ya. For WOF and cert standards you need 50x50mm plates with nuts welded to them and the plate riveted through the floor. Just on the new holes youve drilled. But most WOF places wont know.
escortwags
what thickness plate would it have to be?? would it be sweet just tacking the plates to the floor?
Gaz
Im not sure what thickness. Takin should be sweet, its just to hold em incase bolt comes loose.
thminiman
for cert im pretty sure its 3mm steel or 5mm ally
