mx_freak69
Have put battery in boot of my car. Cable etc is sweet. No voltage/current drop along cabling, but battery wont turn starter over. If using same battery but jumper leads str8 on2 the starter motor, it starts sweet. any ideas?
mikuni
How is it not turning over? Is it turning over slow or just not at all? Where have you earthed? Perhaps the earth in the boot isn't sufficient to actuate the starter solinoid? Just a random stab in the dark there with that little info. Raizer
Since you say your cable is sweet (what gauge are you using?) id say it will be an earth problem, i went through the same thing when i moved the bat in my Subaru, i just added 1 more heavy lead (0 or 2 gauge welding wire) to another point in the boot, had no trouble since
ProZac
Try checking the voltage at the starter while a mate is trying to crank it over. The cable might be good enough for no drop when there is no load, but as soon as the starter gets hungry for some current it might not be able to cut it. blakamin
not so much the voltage you'll have to worry about, it's the amps... is the starter getting the amps? and more earths are always good
