I have one of those 8 inch mustang diff's for my crapper, identified by the fact they are front loading like a 9 inch, not rear loading like a borg warner. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motor ... 271880.htm ^lsd for ya. All mk 2/3 capris from this part of the world used an atlas type diff (as far as im aware) but the mk 1 atlas's are narrower. I'm considering ditching the idea of using my 8" for 2 reasons, its not lsd, its going to be a cunt to restud, and i might have to narrow it a further inch or so to get my wheels up under the guards, and if im going through all that hassle i might as well just get a hilux or a 9 inch. i've heard the 8 inch's can handle around 350 hp, but with an lsd unit ^ and a ca18det (which wont have the torque of the v8's they would have got that figure from) it'll be mint for what u want. I wouldnt be surprised if they only ever came out in some rare as souped up pinto sold only in america that was recalled after 6 months. personally i reckon itd be easier just to get an lsd head for ur escort diff, with a strengthened housing and axles, will probably work out cheaper. If I could possiably find and LSD head for it then I will 100% buy it. If not then wont bother. Auction closes Sunday so need to really sorce head before then.. They have so many differant ratios to suit. basically from 4.1:1 - 5.14:1 Plus I already have one. and possiably a LSD head in one of the ones I have.
