Gaz
Me and Mongol smoked it in yesterday. Got a bit dark but from what we can see the gbox cannot be pushed right up in the tunel because the front rib is in the way. Dont know if you can beat or cut the rib as it looks to be strengthening. The tunel is definatly wide enough. So, can I beat or cut it? Cantina do you have a mk2 that had a five speed in it?
mk2_escort
id be carefull touching that. dont wana fuk it up lol. talk 2 a guy at a garage somewhere. im sure heil giv u a few ideas on the situation
dylan
if by rib you meen this bit then it looks to me like you could hit it in a bit with a rubber mallet depends how far out it is tho you might have to cut it out and get a fabricator to make up and weld in new skinnier bits man i wish i took more notice of the mk 2 i pulled the motor out of

dylan
how far off is it from fitting?if its a couple of mm im sure a couple of taps wont hurt
Gaz
Well to get the gbox right up you really need to cut it out. All depends how far up into the tunel you want the gbox. Where the gbox sits will also determin the driveshaft angle.
Hemi
u would need to completly remove it for it to sit properly i reckon the driveshaft would be at too much a an angle to be reliable (consantly having to replace uj and /or rear gearbox bearings... had a talk to a couple of guy at work today and they siad just cut it and move it ...ill ask next time im at vtnz
