RT
nah.. can't even remember my original wheel size to be honest. And besides, the speedo will need recalibrating soon once the W55 gearbox goes in..
fuel
nah.. can't even remember my original wheel size to be honest. And besides, the speedo will need recalibrating soon once the W55 gearbox goes in.. Oh yep. Well the main point I was making is that a 225/50 R15 isn't going to be the same diameter as a 265/50 R15. One will look like a balloon, and one wont.
atropine
yeah ive said that plenty of times but noone listens...
RT
I listen.. just don't care , about the balloon look, it's a drag car mainly not made for cornering hard. Otherwise I would have done things much difference.. the problem I have is traction! ..or the lack of. However, I'm probably gonna go for a 225/50 on the rear, or possible a 235/55/15 and get the rear lowered again to level it out.
Guest WESTCORT
havent driven on my eagars but from what ive read here they have shitty grip? is this entirly true? and imo go for the fattest u can get on the back RT unless cost is a issue.. fat tyres are staunch
RT
eagers grip ok but they wear out quickly apparently although i've never had any myself. But my mates eagers have worn out heaps faster than my uniroyals. yeah I've got the new diff under there and by the looks of it I have a fair amount of room to fill. a 235 would be perfect but I can't get em in low prof 50's.. so either its a 225/50 or a 235/55 which will be quite tall, raising the car up at the rear so I would need a 1/2" lowering blocks or something I think. drftnmaz
from my experiance eagers were a hard wearing tyre which is why they are shit for grip and why the rota boys love them cause they spin soo easy. and when you do skidz they smoke but don't wear out
atropine
yeah a 235/55 over a 225/50 will raise it 7/10ths of an inch.. what you got now?..
RT
7/10th of an inch? whf.. how much is that in mm.. lol I've got 205/50/15's all round at the moment. And I've now got about 2" each side of guard room in the rear. Mags are 15x7's.
CaMpylobacter
3/4 inch = 19mm, .7 inch would be a gnat's dick under that..
RT
hmmm an 1" lowering block would do the trick then as it was a little higher in the back anyway.. thats if I did a 235/55..
atropine
ok fuel that site of yours has glitchyness.. going from a 205/50 to a 235/55 will give ya over 2inches extra wheel height, aka jus over an inch extra ride height at the axle.. so even with a 1" block youll end up higher than before going from a 205/50 to a 235/
RT
ferkin 2" block then!
atropine
or get a 235/45 thatd raise it a lil over 3mm so good luck telling the difference closest match in size to ya 205/50s
RT
the make a 235/45/15 ?? shit, well concidering I can't find anyone who stocks a 235/50 I highly doubt my chances of finding a 235/45!

Gaz
from my experiance eagers were a hard wearing tyre which is why they are shit for grip and why the rota boys love them cause they spin soo easy. and when you do skidz they smoke but don't wear out Nah eagers are soft and wear fast. Smoke good because they are soft. Alot of people here mock them I have seen. I have driven on multiple sets of eagers and in my eyes they are good tires. Better than any of the other shit i have had. Nankang, Silverstone, cheap Michelins. The set of toyo proxy t-1s were better though. But they damn well should be for the price.
atropine
seems to me a lot of people here associate them with stuff like escorts = bagging and remember, everyones bozo trendwhores now, which means ya need low pro skinny tires bro.. not big fat eagers.. atropine
must be why 99% of dragsters, hot rods and muscle cars run em.. huge tyres are oldschool. lowpro are ricer born and bred but yeah man, you guys keep your dreams of tyres that dont fit your rims
