  1. Right, today i learnt, apparently driveshafts cant be balanced when somebody else has shortened and welded them... Oh well, lucky i enjoy paying for things to be done twice. In good news, i got the back brakes back together, fitted to the car and ready to roll. Coil overs all wound down and fitted. And with the help of a few blocks of wood got it of the hoist.
  2. I thought ke70 was smaller diameter than cressida/ae86? i never actually measured mine, just went straight to the cressida stuff, and it has worked out perfect, thanks to the t3 hybrid knuckles. Cressida (x7) and ae86 are definitely 51mm OD I liked kpr's way of using s13 coilovers on his ae86 or kp60? Cut them up and weld them on to the toyota strut.
  3. thats the plan, the 3sge should have more than enough power for me anyhow, so the power lost from a quiet exhaust shouldn't be a problem.
  4. Coilovers are all in, Two piece Drive Shaft also fitted, will be pulling it all out tomorrow, and doing some painting. Get the brakes rebuilt and bleed as well hopefully. And take the driveshaft to be balanced on monday.
  5. Very tempting! Will see if pro parts can do a 60 series or a super 50 and get back to you.
  6. Yip Mainland is branching out into resonators, haha. Has to be quiet. was no fun with the last noisy ke70. received far to much attention. Do you know what flowmaster exhaust you have a copy of? I was looking at a 50 series, or a 60 series, if Pro Parts stock them. there Pricing is pretty sharp, compared to getting it from Summit.
  7. All welded in, just needs the bottom mounts to be made. Then i will be trying to sort out an exhaust for it. Is going to be 2.5inch mild steel. Looking at flowmaster muffler and Coby Resonator? Would like it to be very quiet.
  8. If its no problem for you to get off, it may help No rush anyway, will be a month or so before tuning yet.
  9. Sweet. The electrician put a base map of sorts on it when he installed it. To get it running. So will get some quotes and get it tuned from that? Just need to build an exhaust once I get it back and we should be ready. Do you have anyone you would recommend for wheel alignments?
  10. sweet, if i was to use a copy of your tune, would it be all right, with out a retune? I think the only difference is, i am using silvertop throttle bodies/different length intake? I have no idea about any of this stuff...
  11. Yea, i found if you ask, some of them give pretty sweet discounts on postage. If you are buying multiple items at once.
  12. na, i have never had to pay tax from anything i have brought from thailand or Maylasia. I have brought a bit through ebay, speedo cable, number plate lights, mirrors, etc, and it all seems to be near the same quality as genuine toyota items. They usually put it down as a "gift" worth $10 on the declaration form anyway. Usually pretty quick shipping times too.
  13. whoop more progress also turns out auto drive shafts have a different yolks, so returned it and grabbed another. hope it fits this time Also some new goodies arrived from summit racing yesterday And a new Hood release cable from Thailand Cant wait to drive this bloody thing! Any questions? Ask away
  14. Cheers. Yea rosskilda still sounds like a decent option. My boss was saying his dyno is a little off though? Not as accurate as it should be. Not that I'm aiming for numbers to boast about.
  15. Dragged her around to the engineers workshop. He will be doing the rear coilovers and the driveshaft for me. Bearing was buggered on the driveshaft that came with the engine conversion from T-Parts. And apparently they have now closed down. Making it difficult to claim for warranties. So went to local toy-yota wreckers. And grabbed another. Will be keeping it two piece this time too. Also found Keith Stewart dyno. Out by rongotea. Anybody know what he is like? Price and quality wise? Cheers
  16. You will need to find similar but legal wheels for cert remember. If you go for the 185/55 stretch.
  17. seem pricey, paying for the design more than the metal i guess. your getting rid of the 1ggte?
  18. i wouldnt do it myself though... haha they are fairly important bits. have you got gas for the tig? we just need to pick up a bottle for ours and i will be able to tig my exhaust
  19. got the rear discs machined up. are all drilled and fit much nicer with no movement around the studs Also had the front struts crack tested. Passed with flying colours have since painted them black and are drying hopefully ready to be fitted tomorrow.
  20. mhmm very interesting, with the draino also i have the spare pair of lower control arms for the front, if you would like to lengthen them after you get a cert. then you would have a spare for a wof's if they dont like them being extended. like this http://csgarage.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/555-Plain-LCA.jpg
  21. This? http://youtu.be/A-1cTpSZ1l8
  22. These are the "powered by max" ae86 coilover. which are ~51mm I.D same as x7 cressida O.D and yes are height adjustable with out touching the spring. Although, i folowed this method to make sure it was all legal and able to get cert Which meant it only goes this low can raise it up 50ish mm from that height if i need to though.
  23. recieved the welded coilovers back, before i get them crack tested, i put them in to see how low it was going to be. is about 80-90mm to the sill discussion can be found here http://oldschool.co....-powered/page-9
  24. Pretty sure my old man got them from summitracing or jegs for his 6x demon 98's not to long ago
