  1. I've got a NZ Classic Car ~1998 with a 2500S as the cover car sitting in Richmond for you if we manage a regional meet at some stage...
  2. Good spotting, I hadn't noticed that they were missing in the photo, definitely there, bike also had sweet insulation tape stripes (and a new plate) added since the photo was taken. Hmmmmmm if keeping the factory airbox is the sensible option I may as well keep the oil tank as it's pretty well hidden. I'll keep a look out for rear sets off a T500 or similar!
  3. Wow, that is a monster length tank! Something like that without the fairing would be about perfect... Questions I need to sort; Rear set pegs, what's an economical way of doing this? Removing the airbox, pod filters, or is there something more 'period' that you can do? I like not having to bother with premix, so clever solutions for 2 stroke oil reservoir?
  4. Sweet cheers for the info, it's definitely not as pretty as these two photos suggest, has the patina that you might expect with 69kms on a commuter bike. I'm off to my inlaws on Sunday for 2 weeks so it looks like I've got some time to get the planning sorted. Clip ons ordered last night for the whopping 30 mm forks! I wondered about the SB200/GT200 hybrid thing, a quick google says you are indeed correct. The guy I bought it off was 125kg and he reckoned he saw 120km/h indicated once or twice, it's surprisingly hefty for what's supposed to be a 131kg machine (I just about didn't get it on the trailer without a ramp), I'm guessing that's dry
  5. I picked this up today Needs some love (idles from 3.5 - 4k, all bulbs died on the way home, 100km/h is full throttle in 5th(but it will do 110 in 4th!))), on the plus side it is reg'd and wof'd and goes well enough to keep up with traffic. Feel free to post inspiration here as I'm not sure what direction to take once the gremlins are sorted... It's a 1980 Suzuki GT200 X5 which is a 2 stroke, twin carb/exhaust/cylinder machine. It has drums up front which do a great job. I'm suspicious they aren't original as it also came with a disc front end and alloy wheels in the pile of spares
  6. Apples unnecessary, and I can store as many metric fine CSK screws as you can make. Would be nice to see what someone can do with the lathes that actually knows what they're doing...
  7. You're welcome to come and see if our lathes are any better (I have no idea...I just like playing with the digital read outs!) They get pretty abused but are only a couple of years old...
  8. Slightly off topic but... What's the cheapest RC car anyone has found? Looking at bulk order of around 60 units, will get students to make vacuum formed bodies, to be honest turn in reverse cars would be fine! Aiming for sub $10 if at all possible
  9. So does that mean that widened steels automatically equal a need for cert, or just that they need to be of 'certified' quality?
  10. I thought your wheels were already widened...have you gone even wider? Isaac is thinking about getting his Probox wheels widened, does anything need to be done to them first?
  11. I was 6 ft tall when my parents finally bought a second car, my brother and I sat facing each other the 800 km to Dunedin every holidays for years...
  12. This should be pretty straight forward for me over the next week if you decide to not just drive up, give me a PM
  13. Spied this today on a perfect blue sky day, looked VERY sharp, best looking EX lancer I've ever seen.
  14. Lack of balance would be offset by having a twin or triple 'rotor'?
  15. New swing arm, done. Must be cheaper than getting an Engineer to build. How far off are the shock mounts etc? Plus alloy bling! http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/motorbi ... 542433.htm
  16. Hmmmmm Roman must know the answer to this. Are you on Toyspeed? Bazda on there is producing coil overs as seen here http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-par ... 247657.htm AE86 is not IRS so probably no use...
  17. Home and warm/dry now. Wind was incredible between Blenheim and Nelson, gusts strong enough to drop my speed from (indicated) 95 km/h to 60, while jumping 600 mm to the right. Also soaked to the skin through PVC and Goretex! Awesome weekend, great bunch of people. Looking forward to doing it again, but maybe not on the RMX... How was your ride Jeff?
  18. I PM'd Big Lou but no reply as yet, would be great if someone could PM me the address as I didn't write it down! I'm looking forward to that coffee too, just hoping I sleep well tonight, missions tend to bring out the insomniac in me! Packed tools and baking, cleaning visor at the moment.
  19. Sounds good, I think you've got my number, but I don't have yours, I guess you're just playing hard to get... Only me, I have some contacts that mean a key would be possible even though it's been closed since Easter Monday. The only reason(s) I'm not are; - that a mechanical would be terrible, with no rev counter I'm not even 100% sure on how brutal I'm being (actually I know exactly how brutal I'm being, poor wee thing ) - You have to be self sufficient (tools and survival) to be granted access - Island saddle is 1350m and likely to be covered in snow this time of year - I'd have to rent a PLB - Not a lot of traffic on the road if I do come off... - It's not actually shorter than going round the coast AND I'm too young to die
  20. 3? 3 pm is for suckers. Once the roll is done I'm off...I'm right into the key competencies, one of which is 'Managing self'.obvious troll, I was writing report comments until 10 pm tonight Ah yes, your work is miles closer than the Brook. Will plan what I'm taking/carrying and drop it off. These repeated frosty mornings have me a little nervous about getting the gear I carry right... edit: Also EvoBilly? He seems to have dropped off OS since Nats, did he buy one too many cars and his Mrs cracked? If someone has contact details, could give him a text?
