Back again, fitted Sam Q water relocation kit and new Fenix radiator. Did a few other bits but nothing pic worthy, Still doesnt run, but am waiting on new Dizzy cap, rotor and leads, then it should be all gravy i think. Off to VINZ/VTNZ etc tomorrow to see if its can be re vinned etc etc. Anywho, crappy pix of shiny Rad and re routed water lines kind of

Hey all, Im using my old mans sj413 for the week while im back in chch. I has a pretty high idle, in the region of 1500-1900 RPM. I know next to nothing about carbs so am wondering if any of you clever chaps know where the idle adjustment is on the carb?? sorry for shitty pics Cheers

From Sam Q engineering in Aus http://www.s-86.com/ looks to do only Toyota stuff, but i cant see similar things being too hard to make if you know an engineer / are handy with a die grinder lol

Cheers bro, I got a decent redundancy payout so wasn't too worried. I actually made money out of getting made redundant AND got a job that pays more lol. Managed to score a new job after getting made redundant last month, so brought the car a present. [/url] This is a better pic of the kit, minus the bottom left "T" piece and brass barb in the main re-router-er [/uR L] It re routes the water pipes to a more RWD friendly layout, as its a monumental fuckup behind the engine at the moment. donno when ill be back in NZ to fit it but im sure itll be there waiting for me whenever that might be fun stuff...

So little bit of not really work got done, rear adjustable are in, painted the bits back and, "Steve" the AE70 left for a new home!!!!! Glorious!!! Back to 'Straya tomorro AM so might not touch it again for a while.....Couldn't find where 1 temp sensor wire goes, gave up after about an hour, cand see fuck all behind the engine.....Eugh Churbro Black things!! Yeah ill come out to some drift days, have been in and out of drift south etc since the start essentially so that's def the plan as well as more grip days. Ah not enough lol, the water lines do "U" turns in the recess and the thermostat etc too so there is a bit going on in there

Got made redundant from work so decided to come back to NZ and play cars for a week or so. Picked the car up from my mates place and made it immobile about 20 mins after getting it home. Swapped out subframes with the AE70, had to rip the engine out, proceeded to smash the dizzy to bits, but i guess thats par for the course. Just gotta plug the wires back in,top her up with oil and she should be good to go. Oh and track down an AE85/6 manual steering column as i had to put the 70 one in and its slightly different mounting spacing, so if you have / know of one im keen!!!! subframe out of the 70 had to hire an engine crane to get the 4ag out, only hired it for 4 hours, had the engine out, subframe out, new subframe in and engine back in in 3.5 hours. haha yeah, i saw it in about Feb-ish, and was still around in July when I was back so went and has a look. I got my Annual Tax refund at the end of July and it was still available, and here we are, I brought is without driving it lol Buying a race car probably isnt the smartest thing to do when living 5000kms away, but meh, shits cool.

I managed to have a guick look over the car one evening a month or so ago while i was back in CHCH for a mates wedding, its probably the best AE body wise iv ever come across, the only rust was on the bottom of the front guards which is pretty minor which is a HUGE bonus. The plan is, at this stage anyway, More or less do a switch-r-roo with my ae70 suspension and front subframe wise, and hopefully add in a new adjustable front swaybar and new castor arms while everything is out. Ill Keep it 4age, T50 and Series for a while, but ill have my hilux diff from the 70 there for a rainy day. once i swap everything over ill try sell the AE70 rolling with the 85 suspension (koni / TRD) S and S series for cheap ( im thinking 1-2k ish), so it anyone knows anyone let me know!!!!!!! I would really like to do a J160 (altezza)6 speed box swap behind the 4age (to ensure the T50 doesnt fuck out) then eventualy 3S Beams it but that wont be for a while, i just wanna drive it!!!!!!! Chur again!!

Hey all I'v just brought a new AE and thought I'd share it, but first a bit of history. Some of you may remember my AE70 i ripped apart and painted just prior to moving to Aus in 2012, and have barely touched it since bar buying a few bits and bobs like wilwood brakes, wanky coilovers etc etc Seeing as I just dont get back enough to "build" the car again I decided to buy something that was mostly there and just macguver it together using the flash bits off "steve" the AE70 so i can use it when I pop back over the ditch. here is Steve Ant the New AE85, brought off a mate of a mate vit TM for what I think is a fucking steal to be honest. shes running a silvertop 20v, T50, S series diff, brand new toyo R888s, Lexan windoes all round, real nice cage and various "race car" other bits and tits. As well as a decent ammount fo spares too!!!!!! I think it didnt sell on TM for aaaaages cuz its just ugly as it sits, but i have a couple of ideas up my sleeve so easily rectify this. I used blue VR4 450cc, fitted straight in, no dramas. Tuner said T28 is easily best bang for buck for turbos too. Had a HT18-T3 RX7 skyline hybrid, dont do that they are shit, it run out of steam at a bar and reasonably laggy too.

I love this. Pretty much the best cars ever!
